Did you take it? Joshua 17

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 – Jos 17
l The Feast l

August 9_2012 Joshua 17

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Joshua 16. Today we see the allotment of the lands as they were allotted to the people, were not enough for the house of Joseph. God is giving each tribe their allotment. Our God is awesome and fair, because of the population God gave the house of Joseph another allotment. “17 Then Joshua said to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh, “You are a numerous people and have great power. You shall not have one allotment only, 18 but the hill country shall be yours, for though it is a forest, you shall clear it and possess it to its farthest borders. For you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.”” Joshua 17:17-18 English Standard Version (ESV). God gave them another allotment however they had to take it. By the same token God has given his son Jesus to ransom the children of Israel as well as the children of Abraham. The conditions remain the same. God doesn't force salvation on anyone. It is up to every child of God to reach out and take the gift of salvation. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 ESV. God gave his only begotten son so that no one would have to perish. He is not willing that any should perish. It's not God's will that any should perish. “16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.“ John 3:16-17 (ESV). It is truly God's will that you reach out and take this gift. That's the only way we gain a personal relationship with Jesus. It is sad to say that if anyone is to perish it is because of unbelief. “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Luke 12:6-7 ESV. It's each persons choice to keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of Jesus.

Don’t get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “…But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” Matthew 24:36. We are building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not wait while you try to change anything.

God Bless you,

Content? Joshua 16

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 – Jos 16
l The Feast l

August 8_2012 Joshua 16

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Joshua 16. Today we see the boundaries of the lands as they were allotted to the people of Joseph. God is giving each tribe their allotment. “ The allotment of the people of Joseph went from the Jordan by Jericho, east of the waters of Jericho, into the wilderness, going up from Jericho into the hill country to Bethel. 2 Then going from Bethel to Luz, it passes along to Ataroth, the territory of the Archites. 3 Then it goes down westward to the territory of the Japhletites, as far as the territory of Lower Beth-horon, then to Gezer, and it ends at the sea.” Joshua 16:1-3 English Standard Version (ESV). Do you think that the tribes are content with their allotment. Are their neighbors truly happy for them? When we can be truly content in our life, then we can truly happy for our brother. We get a peak early in the creation at the pain Satan can inflict when a person is not content with God's blessings in their life. Because Cain did not do well with his offering to God, he couldn't be happy for Abel when God accepted his offering. 5 but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell. 6 The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? 7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.”” Genesis 4:5-7 ESV. Cain failed in his attempt to please God. He could have made it right and been content in his relationship with God. We see what happened because he didn't do well he killed his brother. Have you ever had a friend or relative get a good gift? Look inside of yourself and see if you were truly happy for them. It's in our nature to say that's great, while inside we think to ourselves; “That lucky duck, that should have been me!” Saint's what we need to do strive to please God. When we are content in our relationship with Jesus, then we can be truly happy when others receive a blessing. The apostle Paul, whose, example we need to follow said it well. “10 I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.“ Philippians 4:10-12 (ESV). This came from his heart, he learned to be content no matter what his physical situation was. That's because his relationship with Jesus was spot on! Take your relationship with Jesus all the way to the top. “For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.” Psalm 149:4 ESV. We are continuing to keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of Jesus.

Some hear some hear & do. Joshua 15

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 – Jos 15
l The Feast l

August 7_2012 Joshua 15

Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Joshua 15. These were the boundaries of the lands as they were divided to the tribe of Judah. Do you see how God was blessing Joshua and all the tribes of Israel? He didn't forget about anyone. “15 The allotment for the tribe of the people of Judah according to their clans reached southward to the boundary of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin at the farthest south. ” Joshua 15:9 English Standard Version (ESV). Can you imagine what kind of faith they had as they took the land that God himself divided for his people. I mean they had to move forward taking the land for each tribe. Some of them were probably wondering if God would forget them. They may have wondered if God would treat each tribe equally. In the end they saw that God did not forget about one of his people. What do you think God thinks of you? Will he treat you as well as the other saints? God has called you to the harvest. Maybe you worked longer than some of the others God called. Whatever you expect of God he will never forget or forsake you. 5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we can confidently say,

The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6 ESV. Just to clarify that sets straight with what Jesus said was the greatest commandment; “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind”. If you wholly follow Jesus then he shall be true to give you your full inheritance. We are not hearers of the Word only. We are doers of the word following our savior in actions as well as words. He left instructions for every believer until the end of time. You are an important part of this mission if you should decide to accept it; “18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”“ Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV). This is a message that will never self destruct. We do not seek the accolades of men, keep your eyes on Jesus. ““For the LORD is our judge; the LORD is our lawgiver; the LORD is our king; he will save us.” Isaiah 33:22 ESV. Let's continue to keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of Jesus.

D0 you do it? Joshua 14

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 – Jos 14
l The Feast l

August 6_2012 Joshua 14

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Joshua 14. These were times that tested man's faith. Do you see why God was blessing Joshua and all the tribes of Israel? “9 And Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land on which your foot has trodden shall be an inheritance for you and your children forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God.’” Joshua 14:9 English Standard Version (ESV). Again I say; They believed God, and God blessed them. We see their faith in their walk, they went into battle where and how the Lord commanded. Are we willing to wholly follow God? God will know by our actions not merely our words. How will you fulfill God's purpose for yourselves? Your faith will be revealed by your actions. 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! 20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar?” James 2:19-21ESV. God's Word is clear when it says our faith is shown by our works. If we truly love God our actions will truly outweigh our words. As we can see by the reference above to the demons just believing is not enough. If you wholly follow Jesus then he shall be true to give you your full inheritance. “22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.“ James 1:22-25 (ESV). God's Word is truth steeped in love for his creation. If you truly want to walk with our Lord keep your eyes on Jesus. “The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.” Psalm 119:160 ESV. Let's continue to keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of Jesus.

What are you looking at? Joshua 11-13

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 – Jos 11-13
l The Feast l

August 3-5_2012 Joshua 11-13

Dear Saints,

This weekend we prayerfully continue our Feast in Joshua chapter 11-13. Joshua and the army are following God into battle. The odds at times have been turned against them (see Joshua 7:10-12) due to the actions of men. However because they believed God he forgave them and the occupation of the new land moved forward. Most of the times it looked like the odds were against them, but because they had faith they did as God commanded. “6 And the Lord said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid of them, for tomorrow at this time I will give over all of them, slain, to Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire."7 So Joshua and all his warriors came suddenly against them by the waters of Merom and fell upon them.8 And the Lord gave them into the hand of Israel, who struck them and chased them as far as Great Sidon and Misrephoth-maim, and eastward as far as the Valley of Mizpeh. And they struck them until he left none remaining.9 And Joshua did to them just as the Lord said to him: he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.” Joshua 11:6-9 English Standard Version (ESV). They believed God, and God blessed them. You and I are involved in a battle today. Though our battle may appear physical in nature it's not. The enemy hates God, God loves us, so the enemy will attack us on any front possible. Look saints you know God gave us a commission. Because we all have a personal relationship with Jesus, we all have a mission. Now Satan may attack a loved one or else our health. He may do this so our spirits fall and we loose site of our mission. He hates God so much that he will do whatever it takes to scuttle our faith. God has given us written instruction that will prepare us to stand in this battle. 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” Ephesians 6:10-13 ESV. God makes provisions for us so that we will triumph in our mission. What is faith and where do we look to bolster our faith? “1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.2 For by it the people of old received their commendation.3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.“ Hebrews 11:1-3 (ESV). God's Word tells us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. If you think about it this Feast is used by our Lord to build our faith. No matter what you are facing, how big or insurmountable it may seem keep your eyes on Jesus. “But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 ESV. Have a great weekend, keeping the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of Jesus.
