Dear  Saints,

Today we prayerfully read, 1 Kings 19 Elijah flees because Jezebel wants to take his life.  He considers quitting and dyeing but God sends an Angel with food to rescue him.  God prepares Elisa to replace Elijah; “19 So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen in front of him, and he was with the twelfth. Elijah passed by him and cast his cloak upon him. 20 And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, “Let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?” 21 And he returned from following him and took the yoke of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the yokes of the oxen and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and assisted him.” 1 Kings 19:19-21. English Standard Version (ESV).   Never presume to know God’s mind, stay in the race until you finish.  Wait on the Lord and he will bless you, with purpose and love.  that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 ESV.  Stay steadfast in your ambassadorship.  Keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. As he did for Elijah God will refresh you to carry on in your service to him.  Love and trust him he will never forsake you.

Dear  Saints,

Today we prayerfully read, 1 Kings 18 Elijah challenges the priests of Baal and proves to all of Israel that our God is the one true God.  Let’s look at the faith Elijah had in prayer.  He had to keep praying for rain.  He didn’t give up after one two or even six times.  The seventh time he prayed God gave him the sign.  44 And at the seventh time he said, “Behold, a little cloud like a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” And he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot and go down, lest the rain stop you.’” 45 And in a little while the heavens grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode and went to Jezreel. 46 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah, and he gathered up his garment and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.” 1 Kings 18:44-46. English Standard Version (ESV).   If God doesn’t answer you the first time you pray keep praying.  Be like a child in the toy store begging his dad for a toy.  Don’t give up until you get an answer.  Then take the appropriate action like Elijah did!  No matter what God’s answer, be thankful for he always knows what’s best for His children.  On that note I’m thanking God and all of you who started praying for me yesterday.  Thank Jesus I’m feeling much better today!  for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:26-28 ESV.  Jesus makes us all one in his family, you and I are as important as Elijah to God.  If you want something pray in Jesus name, know that he is going to answer and whatever the answer give God the glory.  Let’s keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. Remember as members of God’s family He wants the best for you and I.  We are his children!
