Today’s Feast
What Do We Seek?

Oct. 6, 2013 – Psalms 63-64

Psalms Chapter 63 - “David's desire toward God. (1,2) His satisfaction in God. (3-6) His dependence upon God, and assurance of safety. (7-11)”  - Matthew Henry Concise
Chapter 64 - “Prayer for deliverance. (1-6) The destruction of the wicked, encouragement to the righteous. (7-10)” - Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading both Psalms 63 and Psalms 64 David was praising God as he drew near to God, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. In chapter 64 David seeks God’s protection.   “3 Because your steadfast love is better than life,
    my lips will praise you.
4 So I will bless you as long as I live;
    in your name I will lift up my hands.   Psalm 63:11-12 - English Standard Version (ESV).  David continues to seek God’s protection here in the 64th psalm; “10 Let the righteous one rejoice in the Lord
    and take refuge in him!
Let all the upright in heart exult!”  Psalm 64-8 ESV. The righteous will continue to seek the loving arms of Jesus. “4 Trust in the Lord forever,
    for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.Isaiah 26:4 ESV

Where Can I Find Hope To Continue?

Today’s Feast
My Hope Is In What?

Oct. 5, 2013 – Psalms 62

Chapter 62 - “David's Confidence in God. (1-7) No trust to be put in worldly things. (8-12)” – Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Psalms 62 .  David completely trusts God.  He reiterates; there is no faith to be put in things of this world.  “ 5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
    for my hope is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation,
    my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
7 On God rests my salvation and my glory;
    my mighty rock, my refuge is God.”   Psalm 62:5-7 – English Standard Version (ESV).  Pause here in the 62nd chapter of psalms. Look at your life and ask this question of yourself; “is my hope resting on God alone?”  Does my salvation truly rest in Jesus?  If the answer is less than a resounding; “YES” it’s time for you to reevaluate your walk with Jesus! “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;Isaiah 55:6  ESV. Hope is not found in the things of this world.

About Praise & Prayer!

Today’s Feast
About Praise & Prayer!

Oct. 4, 2013 – Psalms 60-61

Psalms Chapter 60 - “David prays for the deliverance of Israel from their enemies. (1-5) He entreats God to carry on and complete their victories. (6-12)  - Matthew Henry Concise
Chapter 61 - “David seeks God upon former experience. (1-4) He vows to serve God. ” - Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading both Psalms 60 and Psalms 61 David was praying for victory while striving with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and when Joab on his return struck down twelve thousand of Edom in the Valley of Salt. In chapter 61 David starts with tears and ends with prayers as he seeks God’s protection.   “11 Oh, grant us help against the foe,
    for vain is the salvation of man!
12 With God we shall do valiantly;
    it is he who will tread down our foes.”   Psalm 60:11-12 - English Standard Version (ESV).  How should we approach God when praying in Jesus name? We can look at David’s prayers here in these psalms; “8 So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day.”  Psalm 61-8 ESV. When we entreat Jesus for anything pray believing that an answer is coming.  Giving God praise while praying shows Him we are praying sincerely. When you pray sincerely seeking an answer; wait on the Lord and listen for God’s answer. “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.Proverbs 27:1 ESV
