Saints,
Today
we prayerfully
continue
our Feast by reading the book of Matthew
Chapter
1;
“Matthew,
surnamed Levi, before his conversion was a publican, or
tax-gatherer under the Romans at Capernaum. He is generally
allowed to have written his Gospel before any other of the
evangelists. The contents of this Gospel, and the evidence of
ancient writers, show that it was written primarily for the use of
the Jewish nation. The fulfilment of prophecy was regarded by the
Jews as strong evidence, therefore this is especially dwelt upon
by St. Matthew. Here are particularly selected such parts of our
Saviour's history and discourses as were best suited to awaken the
Jewish nation to a sense of their sins; to remove their erroneous
expectations of an earthly kingdom; to abate their pride and
self-conceit; to teach them the spiritual nature and extent of the
gospel; and to prepare them for the admission of the Gentiles into
the church.

Genesis to Joseph in Matthew; “he
called His name Jesus.”

"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and
they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God
with us." 24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as
the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, 25
and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son.
And he called His name Jesus.’”

Every
person who repents (see

and asks Jesus to be their Saviour walks in the light;
“[I
Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life] “14 “Let not your
heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My
Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and
prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to
Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

Do
you know that you are made in the image of God? You are an eternal
being, where you spend eternity depends on your relationship with
God? To be sure turn from sin just say this simple prayer; “Dear
God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus
Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing
to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and
life as my personal Saviour.“ If you said this prayer inviting
Jesus into your heart. Now turning from sin, and seek fellowship
just as we do. We worship and fellowship in a Church (group of
believers) that strive to measures up to God’s Word. You need a
Bible believing body of believers (church) to worship and pray
with. Our salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints
that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we
repent (turn from sin) and accept Jesus. If you are ready hear

As
we continue our Feast by reading the book of Genesis
Chapter
50;
“The
mourning for Jacob.
(1-6)
His
funeral.
(7-14)
Joseph's
brethren crave his pardon, He comforts them.
(15-21)
Joseph's direction concerning his bones, His death.
(22-26)“

Matthew

Here
in Genesis
50,
we
see Israel (Jacob) laid
to rest with a large procession (see
Genesis
50:12-13)
to the resting place of his family.
The
lies and treachery of the brothers
(see
Genesis
50:15 )
dealing
with Joseph haunt the brothers once more.
Joseph
who has served God all of his life knows that God works everything
out to benefit those who love & serve God; ”19
Joseph said to them, "Do not be afraid, for am I in the place
of God? 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God
meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day,
to save many people alive.”
Genesis
50:19-20

We
see Joseph forgiving
(see
Genesis
50:22)
his brothers for their treachery!
This
behavior by Joseph would serve to remind you and I of how many
times Jesus told us to forgive our brothers; “21
Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my
brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus
said to him, “I
do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times
seven.”
John 14:1-3

We
know that God's
good purposes work
to benefit (see
Romans
8:28)
those that love Jesus and are called according to His purposes.
