Day 8 of 40 Seeking God - 1 Samuel 4

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 –I Sam 4
l The Feast l

Oct 5_2012 I Sam 4
National Days of Prayer Day 8 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 4. As we continue our feast in 1 Samuel we see, the word of the Lord fulfilled just as God told Samuel in yesterday's feast. The Israelites overcome by the Philistines. The ark taken. The death of Eli. Just before dying Eli's daughter in law gives birth to Ichabod. “20 And about the time of her death the women who stood by her said to her, “Do not fear, for you have borne a son.” But she did not answer, nor did she regard it. 21 Then she named the child Ichabod, saying, “The glory has departed from Israel!” because the ark of God had been captured and because of her father-in-law and her husband. 22 And she said, “The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured.”” I Samuel 4:20-22, New King James Version (NKJV). Our God is always true to his Word! Listen to him, pray and obey the Holy Spirit as He speaks to you and God will bless you.

40 Days of Prayer # 8 Prayer for our nation By Pastor Glen Aycock

May our hearts burn for God.
SCRIPTURE: ACTS 4:20;ROMANS1:16

for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard”, “for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Acts 4:20; Romans 1:16).

THE gospel will not reach the four corners of this world until it reaches the four corners of our own hearts. And until the gospel reaches the four corners of our hearts—the degree that our hearts are greatly set on Him—will it be compellingly advanced in our world.

When our hearts burn for God, we will be organically set on mission like the early apostles, saying proudly about the gospel, “for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard”, “for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Acts 4:20; Romans 1:16).

Indeed, a heart set on God is one that naturally positions itself for outward impact. This vertical obsession with God translates to an immediate horizontal expression with culture.”
[AUSTIN GENTRY/ writer of Christianity Applied

The above quote struck me and I wanted to pass it on. This is a website maintained by Christian students in North Carolina. Please think about the key thought concerning vertical obsession with God translates horizontal expression with culture. We cannot impact our Nations government unless we are willing to be sold out to God. We all have some repenting and praying to do. Use this day to deal with the issues that prevent you from a pure testimony to the nation. God bless you as you search your heart today.

PRAYER FOR TODAY: Dear Heavenly Father we come on stricken heart for the sins we have committed as a nation. Give us strength to demand of our leaders that God be included in the government issues of this nation. Insulate us from the attacks of Satan to infiltrate our churches, young people and children. Satan seems to have a strategy to destroy the sanctity of the home and pipes lies into our homes through the media of television. Help us to complain to our stations about programs that make evil good and good evil. Help us to reclaim the ole time religion of faith and prayer and righteousness.
in Jesus Name: Amen!

Thank you for obeying and seeking God's will for our Christian nation. Thank Jesus for salvation and keep the first thing first! That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.” Isaiah 55:6 NKJV.Continue in his plan, accepting and sharing His love. You'll find the request for prayer at;http://www.admenu.com/am/praise.html. Here we are Lord Day 7 of 40 - 1 Samuel 3

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 –I Sam 3
l The Feast l

Oct 4_2012 I Sam 3
National Days of Prayer Day 7 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 3. As we feast we see, the word of the Lord first revealed to Samuel. At first Samuel thinks it is Eli calling out to him. Eli then reveals that it is God calling to Samuel. God tells Samuel the destruction of Eli's house. Because Samuel is faithful to tell Eli God's full message Samuel established to be a prophet. When God calls be faithful to say I am here Lord. “18 Then Samuel told him everything, and hid nothing from him. And he said, “It is the Lord. Let Him do what seems good to Him.”” I Samuel 3:18, 1 Samuel 3 New King James Version (NKJV). When you are asked what your God said answer fully and truthfully, God will bless you.

40 Days of Prayer # 7 Prayer for our nation By Pastor Glen Aycock

40 days of Prayer-Day 7
CONDITION FOR SUCCESSFUL PRAYER
SCRIPTURE: Brothers and Sisters hear and apply the word of God today. He is speaking!
Contrition {#2Ch 7:14 Isa 58:9} 1 "Shout! A full-throated shout! Hold nothing back—a trumpet-blast shout! Tell my people what’s wrong with their lives, face my family Jacob with their sins! 2 They’re busy, busy, busy at worship, and love studying all about me. To all appearances they’re a nation of right-living people—law-abiding, God-honoring. They ask me, ‘What’s the right thing to do?’ and love having me on their side.
6"This is the kind of fast day I’m after: to break the chains of injustice, get rid of exploitation in the workplace, free the oppressed, cancel debts. 7 What I’m interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families.8 Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once. Your righteousness will pave your way. 9 Then when you pray, GOD will answer. You’ll call out for help and I’ll say, ‘Here I am.’

Whole - heartedness {#Jer 29:13} "When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. "Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, 14 I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed."

Faith {#Mr 11:24} 22 Jesus was matter-of-fact: "Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, 23 and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, ‘Go jump in the lake’—no shuffling or shilly – shallying — and it’s as good as done. 24 That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything. 25 And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it’s not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive—only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins."

Righteousness {# Jas 5:16} 16 God said, "I am holy; you be holy. "17 You call out to God for help and he helps — he’s a good Father that way. But don’t forget, he’s also a responsible Father, and won’t let you get by with sloppy living.”

Obedience {# 1Jo 5:14] 14 Also, we’ve seen for ourselves and continue to state openly that the Father sent his Son as Savior of the world. 15 Everyone who confesses that Jesus is God’s Son participates continuously in an intimate relationship with God. 16 We know it so well, we’ve embraced it heart and soul, this love that comes from God. God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us.

PRAYER THOUGHT: Dear Jesus: We first all ask your help in meeting the conditions of answered prayer. We pray for our nation and help us select the leaders that will stand up for God and lead by his instructions. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Thank you for being here in prayer for our Christian nation. Let us continue to tell the truth and keep the first thing first! That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.” Proverbs 27:1 NKJV. Continue to join us in sharing His love. National Days of Prayer Day 6 of 40 - Samuel 2

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 –I Sam 2
l The Feast l

Oct 3_2012 I Sam 2
National Days of Prayer Day 6 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 2. As we read we see, Hannah's prayer or song of thanksgiving including her appraisal of the Lord. We visit the wickedness of Eli's sons, Samuel's ministry. The prophecy against Eli's family. In the first two verses she accurately describes her place and our awesome God.

1 And Hannah prayed and said,
My heart exults in the Lord;
my horn is exalted in the Lord.
My mouth derides my enemies,
because I rejoice in your salvation.
2 “There is none holy like the Lord:
for there is none besides you;
there is no rock like our God.

I Samuel 2:1-2, English Standard Version (ESV). There is no other who is worthy of our praise.

40 Days of Prayer # 6 Prayer for our nation By Pastor Glen Aycock
40 DAYS OF PRAYER- DAY 6

SCRIPTURE:
"And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare." [New Living Translation]Jeremiah 29:7

Determining Our Nation’s welfare
Let us pray that our nation does not have to go into exile or become laughing stock of the rest of the world. America has almost lost the reputation of being “Christian America”. We now have other countries sending missionaries to introduce America to Christ. Visitors land at our airports and they see billboards advertising alcohol and wine, nude bars, pornography, gay rights. At first sight they could think the airplane landed in the wrong country. This was the experience of Mel Tari and he relates it in his book, “Like a mighty wind”. Recommended reading for anyone who is interested in revival and power for renewal.

I am not a prophet of doom but one of hope if we look to Jesus and call on His name. I play tennis and years of lessons and practice are useless if I don’t apply them when the ball is in my court. I can’t rely on past games but must concentrate on the present. My concentration on the present need will determine the future. Will we do all we can to win our nation back to God? We need to recognize the spiritual vacuum that we have allowed by lack of taking a stand for the principles of a Godly nation.

In the television series called Dragnet a favorite statement of purpose in the investigation was, “Just the facts, only the facts”. Here are the facts that should propel us to prayer.
  • Prayer not allowed in schools
  • Ten commandments not allowed on public buildings (national and state)
  • Teachers can be fired for reading the Bible to their students.
  • Congress no longer begins its session with a chaplain praying to God for guidance.
  • God referred to as “higher being” which can mean a rock or a man or Grandfather or Grandmother.
  • Pastors can be imprisoned because they preach sermons against sin. (such as same sex marriages)

Prayer Thought:
Dear Jesus: we pray for our nation as written in your word. We pray for it’ welfare and the welfare of our Children. Please heal our nation. Jesus name. Amen

Thank you for joining in in prayer for our Christian nation. We will continue to keep the first thing first! That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “[Born Again to a Living Hope] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Day 5- 40 days of Prayer, I Samuel 1

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 –I Sam 1
l The Feast l

Oct 2_2012 I Sam 1
National Days of Prayer Day 5 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel. As we read we see, the genealogy of Elkanah and his family. Hannah’s prayer for a son. The son Samuel is weaned, Hannah presents him to the Lord. “25 Then they slaughtered the bull, and they brought the child to Eli. 26 And she said, “Oh, my lord! As you live, my lord, I am the woman who was standing here in your presence, praying to the Lord. 27 For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. 28 Therefore I have lent him to the Lord. As long as he lives, he is lent to the Lord.”” I Samuel 1:25-28, English Standard Version (ESV). When we earnestly ask God for anything in his will and he gives it to us, remember to fulfill your vows.
40 Days of Prayer # 5 Prayer Devotional By Pastor Glen Aycock

“Day 5- 40 days of Prayer Devotional
By Pastor Glen Aycock
Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. 12 “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. 13 “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me.”Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, 14  I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.”
Today’s devotional thought focuses on His promise for a nation if it returns to following God in a serious way. This is what these crucial days of prayer as a nation of God believers are all about. God is into restoration and promises to do that if we ask and our actions line up to testify of our hearts validity. Look at the content of this promise:
  • God has plans to take care of you.
  • God will not abandon you.
  • God has plans for your future
  • God has promised that when we pray He will listen.
  • God has promised that when we come looking for Him, we will find him.
  • God demands we want it more than anything else, we will not be disappointed.
We have the word of God and the conditions for our prayers to be answered. We need leaders in our government that will return to the Godly principles that are at the roots of the birth of our nation. There is another scripture that says “blessed in the nation whose God is the Lord”.
Pray for the upcoming election and vote not by political loyalty but by God inspired loyalty and faith, and prayer. Serving and living for God is never outdated. Let reclaim our national loyalty to God. Pray, seek. Look and listen to God.
Prayer Thought:
Dear Jesus:
As believers and followers of Christ we pray and claim your promises to take care of us. In return for this mercy we promise to live for you and depend on you. We accept your plans for our future. We look forward to a revival that will move through our nation evidenced by a return to principles of a Godly nation. We thank you in advance and desire this restoration with all our heart. In Jesus name, Amen.”

Day 5 already? Time goes fast when we pray for our God’s will to be done. Dare to keep the first thing first! Tue, October 2, 2012, I Samuel, – “Elkanah and his family. (1-8) Hannah’s prayer. (9-18) Samuel, Hannah presents him to the Lord. (19-28)” – Matthew Henry Concise

1 Samuel an Overview;
In this book we have an account of Eli, and the wickedness of his sons; also of Samuel, his character and actions. Then of the advancement of Saul to be the king of Israel, and his ill behaviour, until his death made way for David’s succession to the throne, who was an eminent type of Christ. David’s patience, modesty, constancy, persecution by open enemies and feigned friends, are a pattern and example to the church, and to every member of it. Many things in this book encourage the faith, hope, and patience of the suffering believer. It contains also many useful cautions and awful warnings.” – Matthew Henry Concise

God Bless you,

Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12 ESV
