Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 27. Today as we read in 1st Samuel, We see David request to and is allowed by Achish to move to Gath. He stay’s there for a year and four months. David deceives Achish, by routing and absolutely destroying enemies of Israel. “9 Whenever David attacked the land, he left neither man nor woman alive, but took away the sheep, the oxen, the donkeys, the camels, and the apparel, and returned and came to Achish. 10 Then Achish would say, “Where have you made a raid today?” And David would say, “Against the southern area of Judah, or against the southern area of the Jerahmeelites, or against the southern area of the Kenites.”” I Samuel 27:9-10 New King James Version (NKJV). God keeps his word to destroy those who would be Israel’s enemy. Our God is awesome, he has a purpose for your life too!

40 DAYS OF PRAYER- DAY 31
SCRIPTURE: 2 CHRONICLES 7:14; PHILIPPIANS 4:8
2 Chronicles 7:14 New International Version (NIV)
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
In our lives we face many different situations; sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Often times I fail to look for the good in a given situation, but rather I get my eyes on the situation. Our eyes and focus should always be on God our only true hope in any given situation. In this verse in Philippians I have found that meditation will always point me to God. Jesus said, "There is none good, save God only." Look at the words of this verse again. Do you know anyone or anything, other than God, that can fulfill all the attributes pointed out in this scripture? Truth, honesty, justice, purity, loveliness, good report, virtuous, praiseworthy.
Sounds like our wonderful God to me. Would you agree?
Certainly in these days we need to focus on the positive and confess the negative in our lives. We have a choice God’s way or our way. I challenge you to choose God’s way and dwell on the goodness of God. He has great plans for us as individuals and I pray great plans for our nation. Blessings await our nation if we repent and turn from our sinful ways. The greatest revival the world has ever known could be born in our nation. I stand by my motto, “What is ahead for us is greater than what lies behind.” “Blessed be the nation whose God is the Lord”!!!

Brother Mike’s prayer for our nation;
Lord please bless our nations, our governments, our church leaders, and our populace. Let us repent, and be your people, please be our Lord God. Amen!”

Saints, continue to see God’s purpose for your lives. Keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “because “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, But the word of the LORD endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.” 1 Peter 1:24-25 NKJV.

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 26. Today we read in 1stSamuel, Saul continues to go after David to kill him. David out of respect to God’s anointed again spares Saul’s life. David seeking peace exhorts Saul. Saul acknowledges his sin, however he shows no sign of true repentance. “22 And David answered and said, “Here is the king’s spear. Let one of the young men come over and get it. 23 May the Lord repay every man for his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the Lord delivered you into my hand today, but I would not stretch out my hand against the Lord’s anointed. 24 And indeed, as your life was valued much this day in my eyes, so let my life be valued much in the eyes of the Lord, and let Him deliver me out of all tribulation.”” I Samuel 26:22-24 New King James Version (NKJV). God never fails to forgive and restore those who turn to him in true repentance. Our God is awesome!

40 DAYS OF PRAYER- DEVOTIONAL 30
SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 12:1b-3; I Corinthians 9:24; Psalm 27: 13-14
"…Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls." Hebrews 12:1b – 3

"…So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours." 1 Corinthians 9:24b
"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!" Psalm 27:13-14.

Devotional
Election Day on November 6, 2012 is not the finish line.
(devotional shared by Jennifer of Kerrville Baptist Church)

Election Day on November 6, 2012 is not the finish line.
As a kid in grade school, we had track meets in gym class. We were taught to "run through the tape" at the finish line. We were told "do not slow down" as we approached the finish line, but to keep running because the race was not yet won. I remembered this as a life-lesson because I was certainly not a star athlete, to say the least. I think of this every single time I read this passage in the Bible.

I believe that our Lord wants us to remember it this way: Let go of anything that hinders your progress, especially sin. Don’t slow down. Don’t pay attention to the other runners in the race. Don’t grow weary or be discouraged. Keep your eyes fixed on the Prize….. Jesus our Beautiful Saviour!

Lord please bless our nations, our governments, our church leaders, and our populace with the truth and the faith and the power to serve and love you. Thank you Jesus for honoring our prayers and keeping all those that the Father has given you. The Lord Jesus blesses us, bind the evil one from our lives and let us live to serve you in everything we say and do. Hallelujah AMEN!” http://www.admenu.com/am/praise.html.

Share Jesus with all who will listen, God will judge their hearts. Please keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 NKJV.
