“21 These things you have done, and I have
been silent; you thought that I was one like yourself. But now I rebuke you
and lay the charge before you” Psalm 50:21
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Hosea Chapter 5; “The
Divine judgments against Israel. (1-7) Approaching
desolations threatened. (8-15)
Verses
1-7 The piercing eye of God saw secret liking and disposition to
sin, the love the house of Israel had to their sins, and the dominion their
sins had over them… See how much it is our concern to seek God early, now,
while it is the accepted time, and the day of salvation.
Verses
8-15 The destruction of impenitent sinners is not mere talk, to frighten
them, it is a sentence which will not be recalled… Those who are led by
severe trials to seek God earnestly and sincerely, will find him a present
help and an effectual refuge; for with him is plenteous redemption for all
who call upon him. There is solid peace, and there only, where God is.” - Matthew Henry Concise
Because
Israel and Judah have acted faithlessly against the Lord; (Hosea 5:1-7 )
Hosea prophesies their destruction. God
announces judgments against the Israelites (Hosea 5:8-15 )
by dedicating themselves to false religious practices. Israel left
the one true God to follow false gods (Hosea 4:12-19)
until they seek God and they pay for their
sins; “15 I will return again to
my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, and in their
distress earnestly seek me.” Hosea 5:15 English Standard Versions (ESV). Praise God!
Jesus has already paid the full price for our sins, (see John
3:16) all we need to do is
accept God’s gift of life everlasting! God loves every person
all they need to do is turn against sin and accept Jesus; “33 But seek first the kingdom of God
and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Hebrews 10:30-31 ESV. God does not only
want give us a new life (see John
10:10) He wants that new
life to be an abundant life.
Today, now is the day of your salvation Don’t wait another
minute to leave, change or quit anything (see Revelation
3:20) Jesus is at knocking at your door this minute. Can you hear Jesus calling you? Will you answer Him today? Do you want to
find true happiness, peace and purpose in your life? If the answer is yes to any of these
questions please click the following link; admenu.com/calling.htm

Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Hosea Chapter 4; “God's
judgments against the sins of the people. (1-5) and
of the priests. (6-11) Idolatry
is reproved, and Judah is admonished. (12-19)” - Matthew Henry Concise
Hosea
reprimands Israel (Hosea 4:1-5)
for depravity, as well as idolatry. God’s people are to be destroyed because
they rejected God (Hosea
4:6-11) by dedicating themselves to false religious practices. Israel left
the one true God to follow false gods (Hosea
4:12-19) stubbornly becoming guilty
of acting like prostitutes; “18 When
their drink is gone, they give themselves to whoring; their
rulers dearly love shame. 19 A
wind has wrapped them in its wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices. ” Hosea 4:18-19 English Standard Versions
(ESV). People will reject the light of
the Lord (see Hosea
4:6) denying all knowledge of God when they cling to sin. Our God is just; “30
For we know him who said, "Vengeance is mine; I will repay." And
again, "The Lord will judge his people." 31 It is a fearful thing
to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:30-31 ESV. God is not
watching us with a big hammer in His hand (see 2
Peter 3:9) waiting for us to
make a mistake. It is a foolish thing that people do when they continue in sin;
(see Proverbs
1:7) and they feel
contempt for God’s wisdom and instruction.

“25 As indeed he says in Hosea, "Those
who were not my people I will call 'my people,' and her who was not beloved I
will call 'beloved.'” Romans 9:25
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Hosea Chapter 2; The
idolatry of the people. (1-5) God's
judgments against them. (6-13) His
promises of reconciliation.(14-23)
;
Verses
1-5 This chapter continues the figurative address to Israel, in
reference to Hosea's wife and children… Impenitent sinners will soon be stripped of
the advantages they misuse, and which they consume upon their lusts.
Verses
6-13 God threatens what he would do with this treacherous,
idolatrous people… Days of sinful mirth must be visited with days of
mourning.
Verses
14-23 After these judgments the Lord would deal with Israel more
gently… Doth God say, Thou art my people? Say, Lord, thou art our God.
Chapter 3; The
prophet enters into a new contract, representing the gracious manner in which
God will again restore Israel under a new covenant.
Verses
1-3 The dislike of men to true religion is because they love objects
and forms, which allow them to indulge, instead of mortifying their lusts.
How wonderful that a holy God should have good-will to those whose carnal
mind is enmity against Him! Here is represented God's gracious dealings with
the fallen race of mankind, that had gone from him. This is the covenant of
grace he is willing to enter into with them, they must be to him a people,
and he will be to them a God. They must accept the punishment of their sin,
and must not return to folly. And it is a certain sign that our afflictions
are means of good to us, when we are kept from being overcome by the
temptations of an afflicted state.
Verses
4-5 Here is the application of the parable to Israel. They must long
sit like a widow, stripped of all joys and honours; but shall at length be
received again ... Though the first fear of God arise from a view of his holy
majesty and righteous vengeance, yet the experience of mercy and grace
through Jesus Christ, will lead the heart to reverence so kind and glorious a
Friend and Father, and to fear offending him.” - Matthew Henry Concise
What
a glorious day, It’s a double header today we are reading two chapters ( Chapter 2
& Chapter 3)
in Hosea. If any person has walked
away from God; Come Home He loves you, God forgives every sin; “4 For the children of Israel shall
dwell many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or pillar, without
ephod or household gods. 5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and
seek the LORD their God, and David their king, and they shall come in fear to
the LORD and to his goodness in the latter days.” Hosea 3:4-5 English Standard Versions
(ESV). God loves and forgave the Israelites
and He wants to love & forgive everyone; (see John
3:16) if we will only put our faith in Jesus. Christ is our advocate; “35
Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36 For
you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you
may receive what is promised.” Hebrews 10:35-36 ESV. We have a promise
(see 1
John 2:1) Jesus will never leave or deny us. If you feel like your faith need’s a boost (see
Romans 10:17)
pray and read God’s Word.
Is Jesus calling you? Are
you going to answer Him? Do you want to find true happiness, peace and
purpose in your life? If the answer is
yes to any of these questions please click the following link; admenu.com/calling.htm
