We Need Not Help God!

Today’s Feast

Jan. 09, 2016 Acts 1

We Need Not Help God!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21, ESV.

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 1; “This book unites the Gospels to the Epistles. It contains many particulars concerning the apostles Peter and Paul, and of the Christian church from the ascension of our Saviour to the arrival of St. Paul at Rome, a space of about thirty years. St. Luke was the writer of this book; he was present at many of the events he relates, and attended Paul to Rome. But the narrative does not afford a complete history of the church during the time to which it refers, nor even of St. Paul's life. The object of the book has been considered to be, 1. To relate in what manner the gifts of the Holy Spirit were communicated on the day of Pentecost, and the miracles performed by the apostles, to confirm the truth of Christianity, as showing that Christ's declarations were really fulfilled. 2. To prove the claim of the Gentiles to be admitted into the church of Christ. This is shown by much of the contents of the book. A large portion of the Acts is occupied by the discourses or sermons of various persons, the language and manner of which differ, and all of which will be found according to the persons by whom they were delivered, and the occasions on which they were spoken. It seems that most of these discourses are only the substance of what was actually delivered. They relate nevertheless fully to Jesus as the Christ, the anointed Messiah.
Proofs of Christ's resurrection. (1-5) Christ's ascension. (6-11) The apostles unite in prayer. (12-14) Matthias chosen in the place of Judas. (15-26)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Here we see proofs of Christ’s resurrection, backed by witness of His missions and resurrection. Prior to his ascension Jesus explains that he must leave for the Holy Spirit to descend. After appearing to the apostles for 40 days, Christ ascended. The apostles unite in prayer to choose a replacement for Judas. “24 And they prayed and said, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen 25 to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.” 26 And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.Acts 1:24-26, ESV. They casts lots in hope that God’s will not theirs will choose Judas replacement. We need not help God, just pray that his will be done. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Don’t get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.Matthew 24:36, ESV. Jesus Paid The Whole Price!

Today’s Feast

Jan. 08, 2016 – II Samuel 24

Jesus Paid The Whole Price!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said. Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph. Amos 5:14-15, ESV.

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in 2nd Samuel Chapter 24; “David numbers the people. (1-9) He chooses the pestilence. (10-15) The staying the pestilence. (16,17) David's sacrifice, The plague removed. (18-25)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Because of his pride David sins numbering the people. God requires David to choose the punishment for his sin. He chooses the pestilence. At Jerusalem God stays the pestilence. David realizes it is not a sacrifice if he doesn’t pay for it personally. The Lord responds removing the plague from Israel. “24 But the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will buy it from you for a price. I will not offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God that cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. 25 And David built there an altar to the Lord and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord responded to the plea for the land, and the plague was averted from Israel.2 Samuel 24:24-25, ESV. Look at what happened here as David pays for sin. Praise God, Jesus paid the whole price for our sin. We can’t earn it, buy it or pay for it; we don’t sacrifice to be free of sin. We can make some sacrifices in appreciation of what Jesus has done for us.  Never attempt to pay for God’s gift of salvation. Whatever you do for Jesus, do it out of love for our awesome God! “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.Colossians 3:17, ESV. Please keep the first thing first, that is salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Give God the glory in all things; let God be in charge of every area of your life. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus, never be averted by the actions of men. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Today’s Feast

Jan. 07, 2016 – II Samuel 23

Join In Pray & Read Every Day?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
Proverbs 9:10, English Standard Version (ESV).
[ Walk in Love ] Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2, ESV.

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in 2nd Samuel Chapter 23; “David's last words. (1-7) David's mighty men. (8-39)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

David’s last words, his house stands with God. David’s mighty men Josheb-basshebeth, Eleazar and Shammah, serve God as they serve David. “16 Then the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate and carried and brought it to David. But he would not drink of it. He poured it out to the Lord 17 and said, “Far be it from me, O Lord, that I should do this. Shall I drink the blood of the men who went at the risk of their lives?” Therefore he would not drink it. These things the three mighty men did.2 Samuel 23:16-17, ESV. Trust in God, no matter what your day, goals or circumstances are!  When serving God and your fellow man, you’ll be victorious! I hope you prayed to the Father in Jesus name (“If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.John 14:14, ESV) and asked for the Holy Spirit to give you understanding prior to reading Chapter 23 of 2nd Samuel today.  One reason for praying and reading a chapter a day (The Feast) is for you to hear God’s Word for yourself; “17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”,  Romans 10:17, ESV. Never depending on anyone person, organization, or book to explain the meaning of God’s Word other than the Holy Spirit (“26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”, John 14:26, ESV) to teach you the meaning of God’s Word. Be sure to look for fellowship in a good Bible believing Church (2 Corinthians 6:14) as soon as you are ready for fellowship.    Always keep the first thing first, that is salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.   If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.

Tribulation, Triumph - Every Day!

Today’s Feast

Jan. 05, 2016 – II Samuel 22

Tribulation, Triumph - Every Day!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause. Isaiah 1:16-17, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in 2nd Samuel Chapter 22; “David's psalm of thanksgiving. - This chapter is a psalm of praise; we find it afterwards nearly as ( Psalms 18 ) . They that trust God in the way of duty, shall find him a present help in their greatest dangers: David did so. Remarkable preservations should be particularly mentioned in our praises...” - Matthew Henry Concise.

King David said; “50 “For this I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations, and sing praises to your name. 51 Great salvations he brings to his king, and shows steadfast love to his anointed, to David and his offspring forever.”2 Samuel 22:50-51, ESV. David knowing who his deliverer is called on the Lord of his salvation. “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” Psalm 100:4-5, ESV. Blessing God every day in tribulation or triumph with Thanksgiving, allows our Lord to continue blessing us.  Always keep the first thing first, that is salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.   If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow.
