15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, 1 Peter 3:15, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 12; “Jehoash orders the repair of the temple. (1-16) He is slain by his servants. (17-21)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 12.  Jehoash orders the money that had been collected to be used to pay the workmen for the repair of the temple.  Jehoash started out with great faith doing right in the eyes of the Lord.  In the end he puts his faith in an earthly king and he is slain by his servants.   “20 His servants arose and made a conspiracy and struck down Joash in the house of Millo, on the way that goes down to Silla. 21 It was Jozacar the son of Shimeath and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, who struck him down, so that he died. And they buried him with his fathers in the city of David, and Amaziah his son reigned in his place.“  2nd Kings 12:20-21, ESV.  Those of us that are put in authority in any situation are responsible to the Lord.  Whether you are the head of the country or responsible for cleaning the ashtrays.  We may be the CEO of a fortune 500 company or a child’s nanny; in either way we are responsible to put God first.  Trust God before any earthly help or guidance.  “24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.John 4:24, ESV.  Whether we are serving God or an earthly master do so as you are serving God in every instance.  On the job or in the church, in public or with our family be true and keep the first thing first.  This is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  In doing the right thing all the time your very life is a light to those seeking God and pleasing to the Lord.    Please put God first and you will truly be pleasing to those around you.  If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, 2 Timothy 1:9, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 11; “Athaliah usurps the government of Judah, Jehoash made king. (1-12) Athaliah put to death. (13-16) The worship of the Lord restored. (17-21)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 11.  Athaliah kills all the known line of David and usurps the government of Judah.  Jehoash who was hidden from her and is made king.  Athaliah Is cast out like Satan from power.  Athaliah is put to death.   The worship of the Lord restored when God picks the seven year old to be king.  “21 Jehoash was seven years old when he began to reign.   2nd Kings 11:21, ESV.  Sometimes we are quick to complain about our leadership even in a society where we choose our own leaders.  I’m here to let you know that God chooses our leaders according to how we serve the Lord.  Some may say that “money” makes the choice, but God’s Word say’s it is God.  “5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.“ Psalm 75:5-7, King James Version (KJV).  How does this affect you and I saint?  If you really don’t know take a look at the Israelites and where their complaining got them as they were led by Moses in the wilderness.  If we really want a change in leadership we must turn to God!  That’s what God’s Word say’s. “14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14, ESV.  We are not supposed to complain about our leaders or make them the butt of our jokes.  Think twice about what you have to say as a child of God.  Let your speech glorify God because you are the light of the world.  “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.Ephesians 6:12-13, ESV.  This means that we should be thankful to God even whenever and wherever He his will is done.   Understand that Jesus keep his own.  Along with that keep the first thing first. This is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  You can be assured our awesome God never changes.  He is eternally true and true to us as his children.  If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

Covering sin?

Covering sin?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

[ God of All Comfort ] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 10; “Ahab's sons and Ahaziah's brethren put to death. (1-14) Jehu destroys the worshippers of Baal. (15-28) Jehu follows Jeroboam's sins. (29-36)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 10.  For their sins Ahab’s sons and Ahaziah’s brethren are put to death.  Because they were sinning and worshipping false gods, Jehu destroys the worshippers of Baal.   Jehu follows Jeroboam’s sins so the Lord begins to cut Israel apart; “32 In those days the Lord began to cut off parts of Israel. Hazael defeated them throughout the territory of Israel: 33 from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the Valley of the Arnon, that is, Gilead and Bashan. 34 Now the rest of the acts of Jehu and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel? 35 So Jehu slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his place. 36 The time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty-eight years. “ 2nd Kings 10:32-36, ESV.  Jehu seemed to be a zealous follower of God as he rooted out the idolaters.  Then he doesn’t follow through, living a righteous life, he falls into the sin of his father.  Remember this; There are no small sins, no white lies, sin is like cancer in that it grows and spreads until it consumes an individual and finally a nation.  “10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.James 4:10, ESV. We begin a good work in the Lord; we need to finish the race, in good grace.  Jesus did not cleanse us of sin in order for us to fall back into it.  When you sin turn to Jesus right away and ask for forgiveness.  There are no small sins just as there is no small cancer.  If your doctor finds cancer in your system, he doesn’t ignore it, saying; “It’s a small cancer, don’t even worry about it.  Sin is like rust, when you find it you don’t merely paint over it.  If you cover it rather than removing it first it spreads under the paint.  Confess your sin to Jesus and ask him to remove it from you.  Keep the first thing first. This is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  The only way to triumph over sin is to ask Jesus to forgive you and cut it out of your life.  It’s up to you to turn from the sin once Jesus sets you free.  If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

Do We Know What Good Is?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24 And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! Psalm 139:23-24, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 9; “Elisha sends to anoint Jehu. (1-10) Jehu and the captains. (11-15) Joram and Ahaziah slain by Jehu. (16-29)Jezebel eaten by dogs. (30-37)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading,  2 Kings 9.  God directs Elisha to anoint Jehu as king according to God’s will. To the captains the messengers who come to Jehu appears as a mad man. The evil kings Joram and Ahaziah are slain by Jehu. Jezebel is eaten by dogs.  “35 But when they went to bury her, they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands. 36 When they came back and told him, he said, “This is the word of the Lord, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite: ‘In the territory of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel, 37 and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the territory of Jezreel, so that no one can say, This is Jezebel.’ 2nd Kings 9:35-37, ESV.  Make no mistake sin will always be dealt with as sin by God.  Sin is a cancer that will not enter the kingdom God has prepared for us.   Let’s not dwell on the negative for this is not God’s will for us.  “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8, ESV.   We are the light to the world; our purpose is to carry God’s word as ambassadors from Jesus.  Let your light shine and keep the first thing first. You know this is good; salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  We are the children of the king.  Let people know what good really is!  If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

Mar. 6, 2016 2 Kings 8

What Does the Word Say?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

25 O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure. Isaiah 25:1, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 8; “A famine in Israel, The Shunammite obtains her land. (1-6) Elisha consulted by Hazael, Death of Benhadad. (7-15)Jehoram's wicked reign in Judah. (16-24) Ahaziah's wicked reign in Judah. (25-29)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 8.  A famine in Israel, but because of her kindness to Elisha the Shunammite has everything restored.  Elisha consulted by Hazael the king of Syria, Hazael murdered Benhadad.  The son of Jehoshaphat, Jehoram’s wicked reign in Judah. Ahaziah’s wicked reign in Judah. “26 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah; she was a granddaughter of Omri king of Israel. 27 He also walked in the way of the house of Ahab and did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, as the house of Ahab had done, for he was son-in-law to the house of Ahab.2nd Kings 8:26-27, ESV.  That’s further proof that two wrongs don’t make a right!   Listen to God, do what’s right in God’s Word, not what is in your heart.   “[Bear One Another’s Burdens] 6 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.”  Galatians 6:1, ESV.   It’s sometimes harder to forgive a brother than a stranger.  If you see a saint sinning ask yourself; WWJS (What Would Jesus Say)?  Jesus died for us while we were still sinners.  So keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. Have faith in God; try to keep your eyes on Jesus and your mind on his Word!   If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

Praising & Praying!

Today’s Feast

Mar. 5, 2016 2 Kings 7

Praising & Praying!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. Deuteronomy 6:6-7, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 2 Kings, Chapter 7; “Elisha prophesies plenty. (1,2) The flight of the Syrian army. (3-11) Samaria plentifully supplied. (12-20)” - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 6, Remember asking God is an important part of the Christian life.  When you pray have faith, expect results. Because he didn’t have faith in God this captain was not be blessed; “1 But Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord: thus says the Lord, Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.” 2 Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned said to the man of God, “If the Lord himself should make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” But he said, “You shall see it with your own eyes, but you shall not eat of it.2nd Kings 7:1-2 , ESV.  God wants your prayer, believe God for a blessing! “16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. 18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.James 5:16-18, ESV.   Pray and let your light shine, keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  Have faith in God, he gave us his Word!  If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.
