Wed 17-Nov-10- I Thessalonians 5 Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our feast in I Thessalonians 5. We have to examine our own lives and learn to be truly grateful when we see others succeed, prosper and do that which is right. God knows who we are, and speaks to us through these scriptures; we must be Living to Please God! As for other matters, brothers and sisters, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.” - I Thessalonians 4:1 - 2 (New International Version). God makes it easy to live to please him. We all did that which pleased God when we accepted Jesus! He doesn’t make pleasing him a chore or hard work; “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:30 (New International Version) Stay strong in your faith and love, sharing this Feast with the Saints. God doesn’t want us to fail; he would like success for everyone who comes to him. “…my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.” - Hosea 4:6 (New International Version). We know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. “But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.” - I Thessalonians 5:4 – 6 (New International Version).
