Dec 12_2012 Acts 17

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read, Acts 17. Paul preaching and teaching at Thessalonica. The Bereans are more serious than those at Thessalonica. Paul is always preaching and teaching about Jesus, Athens is no exception. He preaches there using their religious superstition to teach them about Jesus. The scornful conduct of the Athenians. “32 Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked. But others said, “We will hear you again about this.” 33 So Paul went out from their midst. 34 But some men joined him and believed, among whom also were Dionysius the Areopagite and a woman named Damaris and others with them.” Acts 17:32-34, English Standard Version (ESV). Wherever Paul went he was telling people to believe in Jesus. Why would he do that? I’d say that the love of Jesus and the forgiveness of sin are the best part of life. “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.” Galatians 4:4-5 ESV. Jesus gives every believer the best life they can have. That includes our adoption into the family of God. Keep the first thing first, that is salvation paid for, in full by our Lord Jesus Christ. How can anyone accept this gift without sharing it?
