What if I offend someone?
June 10, 2013 – II
Corinthians 10
Dear
Saints,
Today we
prayerfully continue the Feast in II Corinthians 10. Here
we see Paul telling the Saints where his authority is from. He states that he is an able, faithful
minister of Jesus. Paul seeks God’s glory, and to be sanctioned by Him.
(12-18)17 “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” 18 For
it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the
Lord commends.”
II Corinthians 10:8-9 ESV. We must
present Jesus as loving and just; remembering that our battle is not with the
sinner. It is with the sin; “25 Therefore,
having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his
neighbor, for we are members one of another. 26 Be angry and do not sin; do
not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and give no opportunity to the
devil” Ephesians 4:25-27 ESV.
Lovingly present the gospel of Jesus
Christ. We should be truthful when
sharing God’s Word, condemning sin. If
the persons we are witnessing to are offended; they are offended by God and
not by us.

“4 You
yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on
eagles' wings and brought you to myself. 5 Now therefore, if you will indeed
obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession
among all peoples, for all the earth is mine;” Exodus 19:4-5 ESV.
