Dec 15_2012 Acts 20

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read in, Acts 20. Paul’s travels about Macedonia and Greece preaching the gospel. Eutychus fell from the third story and was restored to life. Paul passing Ephesus to go towards Jerusalem to be there for the day of Pentecost. Paul’s addresses the elders of Ephesus, telling them to protect the church of God. Their emotional and prayerful farewell. ”35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ 36 And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all. 37 And there was much weeping on the part of all; they embraced Paul and kissed him, 38 being sorrowful most of all because of the word he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And they accompanied him to the ship..” Acts 20:35-38, English Standard Version (ESV). Emotional farewells and some uncertainties, come to all of us who are, blessed to the point of sharing the love of Jesus. “And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”” Luke 1:30-33 ESV. Sharing this gift from God with as many as possible, we know we will be reunited on the return of Christ. He himself will wipe the tears of sorrow from our eyes. So we continue to keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. Carrying the gospel wherever God takes us.
