What’s the Word? – 2 Kings 8
Jan 24, 2013 - 2
Kings 4
Dear Saints,
Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 8. A famine in Israel, but
because of her kindness to Elisha the Shunammite has everything restored. Elisha consulted by Hazael the king of
Syria, Hazael murdered Benhadad. The
son of Jehoshaphat, Jehoram's wicked reign in Judah. Ahaziah's wicked reign
in Judah. “26 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old
when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's
name was Athaliah; she was a granddaughter of Omri king of Israel. 27 He
also walked in the way of the house of Ahab and did what was evil in the
sight of the Lord, as the house of Ahab had done, for he was son-in-law to
the house of Ahab.“ 2nd Kings 8:26-27 English - Standard
Version (ESV). That’s further proof
that two wrongs don’t make a right! Listen to God, do what’s right in God’s Word,
not what is in your heart. “[Bear One
Another's Burdens] Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you
who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch
on yourself, lest you too be tempted.” Galatians 6:1 ESV. It’s
sometimes the harder to forgive a brother than a stranger. If you see a saint sinning ask yourself;
WWJD (What Would Jesus do)? Jesus
died for us while we were still sinners.
So keep the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood
of our Lord Jesus. Have faith in God;
try to keep your eyes on Jesus and your mind on his Word!

“16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray
for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person
has great power as it is working. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like
ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years
and six months it did not rain on the earth. 18 Then he prayed again, and
heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.” James 5:16-18 English
Standard Version (ESV).
