Is
my life pleasing God? – 2 Kings 12
Jan 28, 2013 - 2
Kings 12
Dear Saints,
Today we are prayerfully
reading, 2 Kings 12. Jehoash orders the money that had been collected
to be used to pay the workmen for the repair of the temple. Jehoash started out with great faith doing
right in the eyes of the Lord. In
the end he puts his faith in an earthly king and he is slain by his
servants. “20 His servants arose and made a
conspiracy and struck down Joash in the house of Millo, on the way that
goes down to Silla. 21 It was Jozacar the son of Shimeath and Jehozabad the
son of Shomer, his servants, who struck him down, so that he died. And they
buried him with his fathers in the city of David, and Amaziah his son
reigned in his place.“
2nd Kings 12:20-21
English - Standard Version (ESV). Those
of us that are put in authority in any situation are responsible to the
Lord. Whether you are the head of
the country or responsible for cleaning the ashtrays. We may be the CEO of a fortune 500
company or a child’s nanny; in either way we are responsible to put God
first. Trust God before any earthly
help or guidance. “God is spirit,
and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24 ESV. Whether we are serving God or an earthly
master do so as you are serving God in every instance. On the job or in the church, in public or
with our family be true and keep the first thing first. This is salvation through the blood of our
Lord Jesus. In doing the right thing
all the time your very life is a light to those seeking God and pleasing to
the Lord. Please
God first and you will truly be pleasing to those around you.

“For we do not wrestle
against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities,
against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual
forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of
God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done
all, to stand firm.” Ephesians
6:12-13 ESV.
