Today’s Feast
Jan. 12,
2016 – Acts 4
Continue Sharing God’s Love!
Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We
will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s
Word in approximately three years.
“for in Christ
Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were
baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek,
there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all
one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians
3:26-28, English
Standard Version (ESV)
.
Dear
Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 4; “
Peter and John imprisoned. (1-4) The apostles boldly testify to Christ. (5-14) Peter and John refuse to be silenced. (15-22) The believers unite in prayer and praise. (23-31) The holy charity of the Christians. (32-37)” - Matthew Henry Concise.
Because
the priests, depended on the people for their living, they were afraid that
many people would follow Peter and John, because of the miracle performed at
the temple gate, the priests had them imprisoned. In spite of the persecution
the apostles boldly testify to the love and power Christ. Peter and John
loved the Lord and would not be silenced. Just as we do today the believers
unite in prayer and praise. The holy charity of the Christians. “32 Now the full number of those who
believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things
that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. 33 And
with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection
of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. 34 There was not a
needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold
them and brought the proceeds of what was sold 35 and laid it at the
apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need. 36 Thus
Joseph, who was also called by the apostles Barnabas (which means son of
encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus, 37 sold a field that belonged
to him and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.” Acts
4:32-37, ESV. Does this mean we should run out and sell all of our
possessions and give them to the church? Certainly not, as good stewards we
must continue to provide for our family as well as support God’s family. If
you sold your home or your car or any possessions to try and appease God it
would be like trying to buy salvation. However if out of your abundance you
sold property to help house and feed the needy in our church, because of
love, God will certainly bless you. To make decisions that would adversely
affect your home and family would not glorify God. Make every effort to
continue sharing God’s love and gifts at every opportunity. “[His Steadfast Love Endures Forever]
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures
forever. Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures
forever.” Psalm
136:1,26, ESV. There is only one name under heaven by which people can be
saved. That is why we keep the first thing first, that is salvation through
our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life! If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the Feast again
tomorrow.

Don’t
get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our salvation
depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life
to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to
get every Saint; “36 “But concerning that day
and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the
Father only.” Matthew 24:36, ESV. We are building our relationship with Jesus right now, do
not wait while you try to change anything.
