Dec 18_2012 Acts 24

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read in, Acts 24. When we hear the speech of Tertullus against Paul, remember these “great” men are not used to being confronted with opinions that are contradictory to theirs. Because he served Jesus wherever he went, Paul’s defense before Felix was sufficient for the day. Felix is impressed enough to bring his wife to hear Paul, but he trembles at the reasoning of Paul. ”24 After some days Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, and he sent for Paul and heard him speak about faith in Christ Jesus. 25 And as he reasoned about righteousness and self-control and the coming judgment, Felix was alarmed and said, “Go away for the present. When I get an opportunity I will summon you.” 26 At the same time he hoped that money would be given him by Paul. So he sent for him often and conversed with him. 27 When two years had elapsed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus. And desiring to do the Jews a favor, Felix left Paul in prison.” Acts 24:24-27. English Standard Version (ESV). Paul was carrying the salvation message wherever he went. Because God’s word does not go out without purpose, Paul survives the accusations of both the Roman and Jewish leaders. And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high” Luke 1:76-78 ESV. Wherever God leads, be sure to carry the message of our Lord. Keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. The rewards of serving the one true God will always out way and be better than what man can do for or against you! Let your light shine!

for us in the house of his servant David, as he spoke by the
