(24-30)”  -  Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Isaiah Chapter 5.   God is expecting His Church to bear good fruit (see  Luke 13:6).  There is no sin in having riches (see Isaiah 5:22) the sin comes by not knowing when you have enough.  The earth will appear dark and desolate (see Isaiah 8:22) to God’s people; “30 They will growl over it on that day, like the growling of the sea. And if one looks to the land, behold, darkness and distress; and the light is darkened by its clouds.“   Isaiah 3:6  English Standard Versions (ESV).  The men and women who know Jesus (see John 8:12) have no reason to walk in darkness.  “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”  Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV.   We cannot know the mind of God however; unless we know the love of Jesus (see John 14:6) we can’t be saved. Let’s continue to study God’s Word (see 2 Timothy 2:15) to be just workmen, tending Jesus’ vineyards.
