(1-5) Saul seeks to kill David. (6-11) Saul's fear of David. (12-30)” - Matthew Henry Concise. Today we see what it meant for David to be blessed by, the most high God! “28 But when Saul saw and knew that the Lord was with David, and that Michal, Saul's daughter, loved him, 29 Saul was even more afraid of David. So Saul was David's enemy continually. 30 Then the commanders of the Philistines came out to battle, and as often as they came out David had more success than all the servants of Saul, so that his name was highly esteemed.” I Samuel 18:28-30, ESV. David didn’t think himself worthy to be the kings son-in-law. His faith in the Lord our God made him worthy; Just as our faith in Jesus makes us worthy; “8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 , ESV. So let's just keep the first thing first!
