“15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”  Matthew 7:15

Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of 2nd Peter Chapter 2; “Believers are cautioned against false teachers, and the certainty of their punishment shown from examples. (1-9) An account of these seducers, as exceedingly wicked. (10-16) But as making high pretences to liberty and purity. (17-22)
Verses 1-9 Though the way of error is a hurtful way, many are always ready to walk therein…  Take heed what you do. His wisdom and power will surely effect the purposes of his love, and the engagements of his truth; while wicked men often escape suffering here, because they are kept to the day of judgment, to be punished with the devil and his angels.
Verses 10-16 Impure seducers and their abandoned followers, give themselves up to their own fleshly minds…  Many such there have been, and are, who speak lightly of the restraints of God's law, and deem themselves freed from obligations to obey it. Let Christians stand at a distance from such.
Verses 17-22 The word of truth is the water of life, which refreshes the souls that receive it; but deceivers spread and promote error, and are set forth as empty, because there is no truth in them... Is thy backsliding a grief to thee? Believe in the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved.” - Matthew Henry Concise
In every age it seems there are those who because of their own lust pervert the Word of God, (see 2 Peter 2:1-9) to disguise their own sin.   They tear apart religious organizations by denying God’s Word (see 2 Peter 2:10-16) bringing down those who seek redemption without putting their faith in Jesus. We see them today boasting in their sin, (see 2 Peter 2:17-22) perverting God’s Holy Word; “ 22 What the true proverb says has happened to them: "The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire." 2 Peter 2:22 English Standard Versions (ESV).  I’ve said it before “No Saint should ever apologize for God’s Word, we should live by it”; (see Matthew 12:31) but instead there are always those who will commit their life to sin. 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Hosea 4:6 ESV.  Those who fear God and seek him in truth and spirit (see Proverbs 1:7) will not despise God’s Word.   Those who feast in God’s Holy Word (see Romans 10:17) will grow strong in their faith.
