The Lord’s Day Will Come

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily.  We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.  Gods Not Dead!

“17 But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  Jude 1:17

Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of 2nd Chapter 3; “The design here is to remind of Christ's final coming to judgement. (1-4) He will appear unexpectedly, when the present frame of nature will be dissolved by fire. (5-10) From thence is inferred the need for holiness, and stedfastness in the faith. (11-18)

Verses 1-4 The purified minds of Christians are to be stirred up, that they may be active and lively in the work of holiness… Because they see no changes, therefore they fear not God, ( Psalms 55:19 ) . What he never has done, they fancy he never can do, or never will do.
Verses 5-10 Had these scoffers considered the dreadful vengeance with which God swept away a whole world of ungodly men at once, surely they would not have scoffed at his threatening an equally terrible judgment... Therefore make sure of happiness beyond this visible world.
Verses 11-18 From the doctrine of Christ's second coming, we are exhorted to purity and godliness… This is the knowledge of Christ, which the apostle Paul reached after, and desired to attain; and those who taste this effect of the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, will, upon receiving such grace from him, give thanks and praise him, and join in ascribing glory to him now, in the full assurance of doing the same hereafter, forever.” - Matthew Henry Concise
By the love and grace of God we have been saved, (see 2 Peter 3:1-4) yet there are those who would deny God’s very existence to lead us astray.   If scoffers would pray and read God’s Word (see 2 Peter 3:5-10) they would understand how the Lord’s day will come suddenly on all creation.  Destruction and Salvation will come suddenly, (see 2 Peter 3:11-18) you and I are to be on guard so that we will not be turned aside from God’s good grace; “18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.2 Peter 3:18 English Standard Versions (ESV).  As for me and you saints we should hold on to every good work (see Colossians 1:10) and continue to grow in our knowledge of Jesus.  Take heart when you get resistance from ignorant or evil people; 3 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, Romans 5:3-4 ESV.  Because of our hope and faith in Jesus (see 1 John 3:3) we will be rewarded on the Lord’s Day.
