To Whom Goes The Glory?

Today’s Feast

March 29, 2015 – Exodus 17

To Whom Goes The Glory?

23 Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.Acts 12:23, New King James Version (NKJV).

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Exodus Chapter 17; The Israelites murmur for water at Rephidim, God sendeth it out of the rock. (1-7) Amalek overcome, The prayers of Moses. (8-16)“ - Matthew Henry Concise.
In today's Feast we see the people of God looking to Moses as opposed to seeing God. I see this in many church groups today speaking about how wonderful the pastor is, and ignoring the glory of God. In the case of our Israelites they seemed more focused on Moses than God; “1 Then all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink. 2 Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, "Give us water, that we may drink." And Moses said to them, "Why do you contend with me? Why do you tempt the Lord?" 3 And the people thirsted there for water, and the people complained against Moses, and said, "Why is it you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?"Exodus 17:1-3, NKJV. They have their eyes on Moses (the servant) instead of their Saviour God. With all the miracles of God to bring them out of Egypt and deliver them from the Pharaoh and his army they remain focused on Moses. Don’t look on God’s vessels as if they contain the miracles. They are sent to show the way to and the power of God. Our awesome God. Just as the miracle of healing was delivered to the lame beggar through Peter and John; “3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us." 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."Acts 3:3-6 NKJV. We must always make sure the glory is God’s; “16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.Acts 3:16 NKJV. We need to keep the first thing first. Salvation healing and deliverance come through our Lord and Savior Jesus.
