(34-39)” – Matthew Henry Concise Commentary.  In this chapter God’s righteousness is on display as He judges the nations beginning with (Jeremiah 49:1-6) the Ammonites.  God judges Edom an enemy of Israel (Jeremiah 49:7-22) and it becomes a horror.   God’s Judgment on Damascus (Jeremiah 49:23 27) the stronghold of Ben-hadad waxes weak.  God uses Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon (Jeremiah 49:28-33) to make the people of Kedar aware of their sins against God.  The king and officials of Elam, suffer (Jeremiah 49:34-39) God’s fierce anger. “37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies And before those who seek their life. I will bring disaster upon them, My fierce anger,' says the Lord; 'And I will send the sword after them Until I have consumed them. 38 I will set My throne in Elam, And will destroy from there the king and the princes,' says the Lord.” Jeremiah 49:37-38 NKJV.  Those that attack God’s law or His People (Genesis 12:3) bring destruction upon themselves. “31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 NKJV.  The fear of God is the beginning of (Proverbs 1:7) wisdom.  God protects those who love (Job 8:20) His righteousness. If the Lord is willing I will write and post the Feast tomorrow.  Listen!
