“For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?”  1 Peter 4:17

Isaiah Chapter 23,The overthrow of Tyre. (1-14) It is established again. (15-18) -  Matthew Henry Concise

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading Isaiah Chapter 23.  Tyre was the hotspot of the era she was full of self-gratification, (see Ezekiel 28:7) Godliness was just another object of her humor.  God will show mercy in Tyre.  When God gives her freedom, she returns to the temptation, the love of money, covetousness, and spiritual idolatry.  “17 At the end of seventy years, the Lord will visit Tyre, and she will return to her wages and will prostitute herself with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth. 18 Her merchandise and her wages will be holy to the Lord. It will not be stored or hoarded, but her merchandise will supply abundant food and fine clothing for those who dwell before the Lord. Isaiah 23:17-18  English Standard Versions (ESV).  Take notice though the nation was doing badly in a spiritual sense, God (see Isaiah 23:18) used her prosperity to bless those who were willing to live for His kingdom. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.   Jeremiah 17:7-8  ESV.  Sometimes I’m surprised when a see a Christian who falls away in sin.  Then I think about what Jesus said to those who appeared to be doing God’s work on the outside but remained secretly opposed to Jesus (See Matthew 7:23) in secrete.  Do I regret giving money to a person who I found out later was abusing God’s gifts?  Not at all, I give what I feel God is nudging me to give.  In doing so I have obeyed the Holy Spirit and thus been true to my Lord Jesus.  Every gift whether given or abused is done so to the Glory of God.  “16 Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?  “ Romans 6:16 ESV.  I am convinced that those that pretended to serve God for their own purposes (See Matthew 7:22-23) is; “The People That Was Not” able to follow Jesus.

Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.   1 Peter 2:2-3  ESV.
