Day 8 of 40 Seeking God - 1 Samuel 4

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 –I Sam 4
l The Feast l

Oct 5_2012 I Sam 4
National Days of Prayer Day 8 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 4. As we continue our feast in 1 Samuel we see, the word of the Lord fulfilled just as God told Samuel in yesterday's feast. The Israelites overcome by the Philistines. The ark taken. The death of Eli. Just before dying Eli's daughter in law gives birth to Ichabod. “20 And about the time of her death the women who stood by her said to her, “Do not fear, for you have borne a son.” But she did not answer, nor did she regard it. 21 Then she named the child Ichabod, saying, “The glory has departed from Israel!” because the ark of God had been captured and because of her father-in-law and her husband. 22 And she said, “The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured.”” I Samuel 4:20-22, New King James Version (NKJV). Our God is always true to his Word! Listen to him, pray and obey the Holy Spirit as He speaks to you and God will bless you.

40 Days of Prayer # 8 Prayer for our nation By Pastor Glen Aycock

May our hearts burn for God.
SCRIPTURE: ACTS 4:20;ROMANS1:16

for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard”, “for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Acts 4:20; Romans 1:16).

THE gospel will not reach the four corners of this world until it reaches the four corners of our own hearts. And until the gospel reaches the four corners of our hearts—the degree that our hearts are greatly set on Him—will it be compellingly advanced in our world.

When our hearts burn for God, we will be organically set on mission like the early apostles, saying proudly about the gospel, “for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard”, “for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Acts 4:20; Romans 1:16).

Indeed, a heart set on God is one that naturally positions itself for outward impact. This vertical obsession with God translates to an immediate horizontal expression with culture.”
[AUSTIN GENTRY/ writer of Christianity Applied

The above quote struck me and I wanted to pass it on. This is a website maintained by Christian students in North Carolina. Please think about the key thought concerning vertical obsession with God translates horizontal expression with culture. We cannot impact our Nations government unless we are willing to be sold out to God. We all have some repenting and praying to do. Use this day to deal with the issues that prevent you from a pure testimony to the nation. God bless you as you search your heart today.

PRAYER FOR TODAY: Dear Heavenly Father we come on stricken heart for the sins we have committed as a nation. Give us strength to demand of our leaders that God be included in the government issues of this nation. Insulate us from the attacks of Satan to infiltrate our churches, young people and children. Satan seems to have a strategy to destroy the sanctity of the home and pipes lies into our homes through the media of television. Help us to complain to our stations about programs that make evil good and good evil. Help us to reclaim the ole time religion of faith and prayer and righteousness.
in Jesus Name: Amen!

Thank you for obeying and seeking God's will for our Christian nation. Thank Jesus for salvation and keep the first thing first! That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.” Isaiah 55:6 NKJV.Continue in his plan, accepting and sharing His love. You'll find the request for prayer at;http://www.admenu.com/am/praise.html.
