What is it about?
April 2, 2013 - 2 Chronicles 10
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 10. Rehoboam takes counsel
from untested, unwise sources. The
ten tribes revolt from Rehoboam. “18 Then King Rehoboam sent Hadoram who was taskmaster over the forced
labor, and the people of Israel stoned him to death with stones. And King Rehoboam
quickly mounted his chariot to flee to Jerusalem. 19 So Israel has been in
rebellion against the house of David to this day.” 2 Chronicles 10:18-19 English Standard
Version (ESV). If we need advice of any kind we should take the matter to the
Lord in prayer. If we need to ask a
person for their expertise, consult God’s Word to see how they measure up. “31 Therefore do not be anxious,
saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we
wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly
Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and
his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew
6:31-32 ESV. God saved each of us to a
purpose. Each saint is unique in the
body of God. “3 For by the
grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more
highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each
according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. 4 For as in one body
we have many members,[a] and the members do not all have the same function, 5
so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of
another.” Romans 12:3-5
ESV. It never was about our religion;
rather it is about our relationship with Jesus.
