Sing to the Lord a New Song!

(6-9)” - Matthew Henry Concise Psalms 150  “A psalm of praise.” - Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu - Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast finishing up the book of Psalms.  By reading Psalms 149 & Psalms 150    In Psalm 149 The Psalmist is singing a new song of joy praising God for his never ending love.  “1 Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly!”   Psalm 149:1  - English Standard Version (ESV).   In Psalm 150 The Psalmist is praising God for his endless love and mercies.  “5 Praise him with sounding cymbals;     praise him with loud clashing cymbals! 6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!”   Psalm 150:5-6  - ESV.  These two Psalms are fitting for this season when we are honoring God for sending His Son Jesus to save all mankind (see Luke 2:8-14).   Sometimes we get in such a dithering tizzy trying to make sure the Christmas season blesses those we love, that we forget that Jesus is the blessing we are looking for.  “8 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. 10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” Luke 2:8-10 ESV.   God already took care of the blessing’s for all mankind (see John 3:16). God brings the Joy to all who will accept Jesus! Amen!
