Today’s
Feast
Jan
20, 2015- Genesis 27
The Father’s Blessing?
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about
fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s
Word in approximately three years.
“17For
you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing,
he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he
sought it diligently with tears.”
Hebrews
12:17
New
King James Version (NKJV).
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Genesis;
Chapter27;
“Isaac
sends Esau for venison.(1-5)Rebekah
teaches Jacob to obtain the blessing.(6-17)Jacob,
pretending to be Esau, obtains the blessing.(18-29)Isaac's
fear, Esau's importunity.(30-40)Esau
threatens Jacob's life, Rebekah sends Jacob away.(41-46)“
-
Matthew
Henry Concise
Today
we
continue our
Feast in Genesis
27.;
Did
Jacob steal Esau's blessing or did he buy it? “25
Isaac said, “Bring some food here and let me eat some of my
son’s game so I can bless you.” Jacob put it before him and he
ate, and he brought him wine and he drank. 26 His father Isaac
said to him, “Come here and kiss me, my son.”27 So he came
close and kissed him. When Isaac smelled the scent of his clothes,
he blessed him,”
Genesis
26:6-7
NKJV.
Now
is I
seem to remember as
of yesterday
that;
(see
Genesis
25:29-34)
Jacob
bought
Esau's blessing? “2Deliver
my soul, O Lord, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue.”
Psalm
120:2.
I don’t think so I think that
Esau's blessing was his to trade away;
”35But
he said, “Your brother came with deceit and has taken away your
blessing.”.“
Genesis
27:35
NKJV. The father’s
blessing was not Esau's to trade, until he gave the blessing it
belonged to Isaac.
“41
So
Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father
blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, "The days of
mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother
Jacob."
Genesis
27:41
NKJV.
People
who are decietful, liars (see
2
Peter 3:9)
are
obviously not in God's will.
Is
Jesus calling to you today? Are you ready to answer God’s call?
If the answer is yes; today is the day of your salvation! Don’t
