Hope without Jesus? – Romans 3
March 10, 2013 - Romans 3
Dear Saints,
Today we
prayerfully continue our Feast in Romans 3.
The question posed here in
verses nineteen and twenty is; “can I be saved by following the law?” I believe salvation is not possible without
our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. “19 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to
those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the
whole world may be held accountable to God. 20 For by works of the law no
human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes
knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:19-20, English Standard Version
(ESV). The law cannot save us! We cannot do away with the law, It simply
points to what we must or must not do.
We are justified by and our righteousness is in Jesus. In other words there is no justification or
salvation to be found in the law. “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy,
always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason
for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,” 1
Peter 3:15 ESV. We honor Jesus,
because he is the savior. There is no law
or person other than Jesus that can pay for our sins. It is a privilege to share Jesus with those
who don’t know Him. Those that have
accepted Jesus are in a relationship with Him. We share his love with others gently and
respectively, knowing that there is no peace without salvation. There is no hope without Jesus!

“8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about
our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by
the power of God, 9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because
of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in
Christ Jesus before the ages began,” 2 Timothy 1:8-9 ESV.
