Today’s FeastNov. 10, 2015 – Ruth 1Ask God First!
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about
fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s
Word in approximately three years.
“5
God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that
we cannot comprehend. 6 For to the snow he says, 'Fall on the
earth,' likewise to the downpour, his mighty downpour.”
Job
37:5-6,
English Standard Version (ESV).
Dear
Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in Ruth
Chapter
1;
“We
find in this book excellent examples of faith, piety, patience,
humility, industry, and loving-kindness, in the common events of
life. Also we see the special care which God's providence take of
our smallest concerns, encouraging us to full trust therein. We
may view this book as a beautiful, because natural representation
of human life; as a curious detail of important facts; and as a
part of the plan of redemption.
Elimelech
and his sons die in the land of Moab. (1-5)
Naomi returns home. (6-14)
Orpah stays behind, but Ruth goes with Naomi. (15-18)
They come to Bethlehem. (19-22)”
- Matthew
Henry Concise.
Here
we see a family that left their homeland without consulting God;
“1
During the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the
land. A man with his wife and two sons went from Bethlehem of
Judah to dwell in the territory of Moab. 2 The name of that man
was Elimelech, the name of his wife was Naomi, and the names of
his two sons were Mahlon and Chilion. They were Ephrathites from
Bethlehem in Judah. They entered the territory of Moab and settled
there.”
Ruth
1:1-2,
ESV. As
we continue in Ruth we see the
folly of making a move without praying to and waiting on God for
His answer;
“3
But Elimelech, the husband of Naomi, died, and she was left with
her two sons. 4 These took Moabite wives; the name of the one was
Orpah and the name of the other Ruth. They lived there about ten
years, 5 and both Mahlon and Chilion died, so that the woman was
left without her two sons and her husband.”
Ruth
1:3-5,
ESV. Here
they are widowed in the land of strangers. Let's
keep the first thing first! That is salvation through the blood of
the lamb, Jesus. If the Lord is willing I’ll send and post the
Feast again tomorrow.
Don’t
get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our
salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus
sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and
accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “36
“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the
angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.”
Matthew
24:36,
ESV. We are building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not
wait while you try to change anything. Click this link for more
