Dec 17_2012 Acts 22
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully read in, Acts 22. Paul recounts details of attacks on those of the Way and gives an account of his conversion. Paul is converted and directed to preach to the Gentiles. The rage of the Jews Paul pleads that he is a Roman citizen. ”30 But on the next day, desiring to know the real reason why he was being accused by the Jews, he unbound him and commanded the chief priests and all the council to meet, and he brought Paul down and set him before them.” Acts 22:30, English Standard Version (ESV). What another a cliff hanger? Yes the last verse in chapter 22 wets our appetite for chapter 23. There is however plenty of information about Paul’s zealous attacks on the Way. Also we see his commission to carry the good news to the Gentiles. “But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”” Matthew 1:20-21 ESV. Hearing this story of Mary and Josephs commission to nurture the Messiah Christ, remember you and I have been commissioned to carry this good news to the world. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19 ESV. It is very important to share your light with the world. We keep the first thing first, salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. Carrying the gospel of Jesus with a smile and a Merry Christmas to those who may have forgotten the reason for this season..
