  Who is responsible? – 1 Kings 15

Jan 9, 2013 1 Kings 15

Dear  Saints,

For today we prayerfully read, 1 Kings 15.  We saw, Jeroboam sinning against God, which caused Abijah his son to be sick and die.  The reign of Abijam, king of Judah, started out good, but he failed to obey God in all his precepts.  Good reign of Asa, king of Judah, he followed and obeyed God in all his precepts. The evil reigns of Nadab and Baasha in Israel.  “33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah began to reign over all Israel at Tirzah, and he reigned twenty-four years. 34 He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and walked in the way of Jeroboam and in his sin which he made Israel to sin.” 1 Kings 14:30-31.  English Standard Version (ESV).   What we see here is that as the father does usually the son follows.  There are exceptions look at King Asa for example.  Christian men and mothers look at the problems we found in this chapter.  Children usually proceed in life in the examole you set. That is why we should always keep God’s commandments and follow God with all our heart, doing only that which was right in God’s eyes. [Lay Up Treasures in Heaven] “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21 ESV.  Jesus set the example for us, he alone was worthy.  As a parent you must do what is right to set the example for your family.  When you are setting the example you should be keeping the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  Remember parents it’s your job to see that your children become part of God’s family.

Hebrews 4:14-16 (New International Version)

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin. 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Without faith what do you have, you have the world. But if you have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ you have everything you need for this life. Jesus died for us all, look to Him in your time of need. For you will be tempted. Praise Jesus for what He did for us all on the cross. Keep Jesus in your heart all the time. Pray and read His word. Let the world see you rejoice in His love.

Let all the people Rejoice and praise Him.

Read God’s word with Prayer. Read His word every chance you get.

This is inspired by the Holy Spirit. Praise God.

Your Brother In Christ

God bless you all

God Bless you,

Brother Mike

Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the LORD, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said. Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the LORD, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.” Amos 5:14-15 ESV.

Jan 8_2014 1 Kings 14

Dear  Saints,

On this day we prayerfully read, 1 Kings 14 together.  We see, Jeroboam sinning against God, which caused Abijah his son to be sick and die.  His mother consulted Ahijah. His prophesy for Jeroboam, who didn’t keep God’s commandments and follow God with all his heart, doing only that which was right in my eyes there is destruction of Jeroboam's house. Both Jeroboam and Rehoboam sinned. “30 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. 31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. His mother's name was Naamah the Ammonite. And Abijam his son reigned in his place” 1 Kings 14:30-31.  English Standard Version (ESV).   The lesson here is pretty straight forward.  We as Christians should always keep God’s commandments and follow God with all our heart, doing only that which was right in God’s eyes. “Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the LORD, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said. Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the LORD, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.” Amos 5:14-15 ESV.  Our God has saved us as a family, and we should do what is right as the family of God.  Go forth keeping the first thing first. That is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus.  Whatever we do wherever we go, do so as a member of God’s family.

“[Walk in Love] Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2 ESV.
