Serving with Zeal! Numbers 25

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3Mar15-NUM 25 l The Feast l May 15_2012 Numbers 25 Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Numbers 25. Today’s Feast reminds us that our God is a jealous God. “3 So Israel yoked himself to Baal of Peor. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel. 4 And the Lord said to Moses, “Take all the chiefs of the people and hang[a] them in the sun before the Lord, that the fierce anger of the Lord may turn away from Israel.” 5 And Moses said to the judges of Israel, “Each of you kill those of his men who have yoked themselves to Baal of Peor.”” Numbers 25:3-5 , English Standard Version (ESV). The first commandment still (as they all do) stands and we should serve him with zeal. “7 When Phinehas the son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose and left the congregation and took a spear in his hand 8 and went after the man of Israel into the chamber and pierced both of them, the man of Israel and the woman through her belly. Thus the plague on the people of Israel was stopped.” Numbers 25:7-8, (ESV). Our job is to spread the Word of the love of God to all the people of all the nations in the world. We should love the Lord our God so much that we display the zeal of Phinehas the son of Eleazar, son of Aaron as we serve the Lord in his commission. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:19 ESV. We learn how the law points to sin but it doesn’t pay for it. It’s paid for in blood by Jesus for our sin debt. “16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.“ John 3:16 ESV. Thus keeping the first thing first, Salvation from sin paid for by God in the blood of the Lamb. Pray continually seeking God in faith, asking for wisdom to do his will. “As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.”Ecclesiastes 11:5 ESV . I send the Feast out as the Holy Spirit inspires me. We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “…But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” Matthew 24:36. We are building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not wait while you try to change anything.
