What should a Christian change?
May 3, 2013 - 1 Corinthians 7
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Corinthians 7. Paul said
that it is better no to be married.
However because of the temptation to sexual immorality, it is better
to be the husband of one wife.
Whatever your situation is when Jesus calls you stand in that
condition until the Holy Spirit leads you to change. We are not bound by God’s law to change our
life or body except for sin. “17 Only let each person lead the life that the
Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him. This is my rule in
all the churches. 18 Was anyone at the time of his call already circumcised?
Let him not seek to remove the marks of circumcision. Was anyone at the time
of his call uncircumcised? Let him not seek circumcision. 19 For neither
circumcision counts for anything nor uncircumcision, but keeping the
commandments of God.” 1
Corinthians 7:17-19 English Standard Version (ESV). This doesn’t mean that we stay ignorant of
God’s purpose for our lives. God wants
all or us to be prepared, man or women for the purpose he called each of us
for. “And this is the confidence that we have toward
him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we
know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests
that we have asked of him.” 1
John 5:14-15 ESV. Notice the
verse said; “according to his will”.
How do we know if we are in God’s will when we are seeking
something? By prayer and study in
God’s Word we will learn to yield to the Holy Spirit. If a change glorifies Jesus you’re on the
right track.

“9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not
inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral,
nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor
thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will
inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were
washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 7 ESV.
