Fri-Sun May 20-22, 2011 Hebrews 4-6

Dear Saints,

This weekend we prayerfully feast in Hebrews 4-6.  We always want to know what the Lord wants us to do.  Where do I go to get in touch with him?  God’s Holy Word tells me that faith comes by hearing and that by the word of God!  So I pray that the Holy Spirit will grant me understanding as I hold every word up to God’s Word for examination.   Don’t listen to false teachers or prophets who say “the lord says”, No in every opportunity share his love with all who will listen”  “Today, if you hear his voice,  do not harden your hearts.” 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works,[e] just as God did from his. 11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4...-8-13 (New International Version). Our God tells us we live by every Word that proceeds from Him.(

Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4)  His Word is truly a two edged sword.

“1 Every high priest is selected from among the people and is appointed to represent the people in matters related to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. 2 He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness. 3 This is why he has to offer sacrifices for his own sins, as well as for the sins of the people. 4 And no one takes this honor on himself, but he receives it when called by God, just as Aaron was.” Hebrews 5:1-4 (New International Version).  If God is willing I will post and send the Feast Monday.

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” - Romans 15:5-6
