Timothy 1
How Do
They Know?
“A man of
many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a
brother.” Proverbs
18:24
2Nd Timothy
Overview; “The first design of this
epistle seems to have been, to apprize Timothy of what had occurred during the
imprisonment of the apostle, and to request him to come to Rome. But being
uncertain whether he should be suffered to live to see him, Paul gives a variety
of advices and encouragements, for the faithful discharge of his ministerial
duties. As this was a private epistle written to St. Paul's most intimate
friend, under the miseries of imprisonment, and in the near prospect of death,
it shows the temper and character of the apostle, and contains convincing proofs
that he sincerely believed the doctrines he preached.” - Matthew Henry Concise
2nd Timothy Chapter
1, “ Paul expresses great affection for Timothy. (1-5)
Exhorts him to improve his spiritual gifts. (6-14) Tells of many who basely
deserted him; but speaks with affection of Onesiphorus. (15-18)” -
Matthew Henry Concise
Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our
Feast reading 2nd Timothy
Chapter 1. Paul a brother in Jesus Christ builds his
Christian brother up setting the pace for the epistle, continuing on with (See
3 John 1:4) encouragement.
When Jesus called the disciples did he put them down or complain to them
about the state? No (see Mark 1:17)! He simply invited them to follow him.
“16 May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for
he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains, 17 but when he arrived
in Rome he searched for me earnestly and found me— 18 may the Lord grant him to
find mercy from the Lord on that Day!—and you well know all the service he
rendered at Ephesus.“ 2 Timothy
1:16-18 English Standard Versions (ESV). Jesus taught them about the kingdom of God and
why it was important to love others (see
John
13:34-35) to please the Father. Then he warned them about the worldly. “Do they not go astray who devise evil? Those who devise good meet
steadfast love and faithfulness.” Proverbs 14:22 ESV. Think about how you relate to others. Give them a warm greeting rather than
complaints. That’s how they’ll find out
who you are and maybe they too will want to become (see Matthew
4:19)
Fishers of men.
Do you hear
Jesus calling you? Want to help lead
others? Do you want to find true
happiness, peace and purpose in your life?

For the delay my internet service went down Feb. 21-now.
Feb.22, 2014 – Song of Solomon 8
Rivers of Living Water?
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the
righteous run to it and are safe.”
Proverbs 18:10
Song of Solomon Chapter 8, “Desire for communion
with Christ. (1-4) The vehemence of this desire. (5-7) The church pleads for
others. (8-12) And prays for Christ's coming. (13,14)” - Matthew Henry Concise
Dear Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Song of Solomon Chapter 8. Jesus
Christ become as our brother and best friend when we find him (See John 15:15). Those who truly put their faith in Jesus
will never be separated from (See Romans 8:35)
His love. “14 Make
haste, my beloved and be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountains of
spices.“ Song of Solomon 8:14 English
Standard Versions (ESV). Jesus fills all the desires (see Revelation 22:17) for his church. The bride of Christ will not know fear; “There is no fear in love, but perfect
love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears
has not been perfected in love.” 1 John 4:18 ESV.
Come Lord Jesus! We are ready to return your love. Let us drink from your rivers of living
water (see John 7:37) and be ever satisfied.

“For the
commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall
not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in
this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to
a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” Romans
13:9-10 ESV.
