Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site   Dear Saints,   Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Corinthians 13.  Paul tells the Corinthians that they all part of Christ and his church; together we form one body, with Jesus as Head and us as members.  “27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. 28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.” 1 Corinthians 12:27-31, English Standard Version. (ESV).  Most importantly we share all these gifts with love.  We see that love is the greatest gift a saint can share. While other things are temporary God’s love endures forever.   “8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:8-13, ESV.  We soon find that the love of God that we share is essential to keeping God’s commandments. That love is to be shared with our neighbors.  “36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”” Matthew 22:36-40 ESV. How can we love our neighbors when we know they are not part of the body of Jesus?  To quote Robert Waters; “Love your neighbors hate the sin!” Remember that God is not willing that any should die in their sin.  (see Matthew 18:13-15).
