An Overview;

“Hosea is supposed to have been of the kingdom of Israel. He lived and prophesied during a long period. The scope of his predictions appears to be, to detect, reprove, and convince the Jewish nation in general, and the Israelites in particular, of their many sins, particularly their idolatry: the corrupt state of the kingdom is also noticed. But he invites them to repentance, with promises of mercy, and gospel predictions of the future restoration of the Israelites and of the Jews, and their final conversion to Christianity.” - Matthew Henry Concise.
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Hosea Chapter 1; “Under a figure, is represented the shameful idolatry of the ten tribes. (1-7) The calling of the Gentiles, and the uniting Israel and Judah under the Messiah. (8-11).” - Matthew Henry Concise
The people of Israel were prospering, (see Hosea 1:1-7) and God was warning them of their downfall because of their sin.   There is hope for the future (see Hosea 1:8-11) when they will turn to one Lord; “11 And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint for themselves one head. And they shall go up from the land, for great shall be the day of JezreelHosea 1:11 English Standard Versions (ESV).  There is only one hope for our future (see John 14:6) that hope comes in the name of Jesus only.  Victory is ours by the grace of God when we put our faith in Jesus; 35 Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. Hebrews 10:35-36 ESV.  Share that hope and faith that we have in Jesus (see Acts 4:12) there is no other hope for the future.

3 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, Romans 5:3-4 ESV.
