Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in Ezra 7.  Ezra thanked God for two things:

1.     1.    For his directive: If our hearts appear good, or if the hearts of others seem good, God put it there, praise him; it is God that works in us, that makes us do that which is good.

2.     2.    For his encouragement: God’s mercy is extended to him. Ezra was a resolute man, this is not from his own heart, and it is God’s mercy that delivered it. When we are enabled to do good for God and those around us, we must give all the glory to God.

27 Blessed be the Lord, the God of our fathers, who put such a thing as this into the heart of the king, to beautify the house of the Lord that is in Jerusalem, 28 and who extended to me his steadfast love before the king and his counselors, and before all the king's mighty officers. I took courage, for the hand of the Lord my God was on me, and I gathered leading men from Israel to go up with me.”  Ezra 7:27-28, English Standard Version (ESV).  People may thank us for doing what is right and good.  We must be quick to let them know that God is the author of any good works by us.  Give all glory to God!  “33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!Romans 11:33, ESV. Let’s follow Jesus is with joy and thanksgiving, giving all the glory to God! If the Lord is willing I will send and post the Feast again tomorrow.
