Dear Saints,
Did you bless the Lord over the weekend? Today we prayerfully begin a Feast in John 4. What is that makes us believers? Did someone tell us about Jesus and that's why we believe? Did the Holy Spirit reveal Jesus to you? “39 Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of his word. 42 They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.” John 4:39-42, English Standard Version (ESV). Whether someone shared their faith or you believe because you read it in the Word, the Holy Spirit revealed the truth to you when you accepted God's gift of a loving eternal life, with Jesus. “19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 ESV. See what I'm saying Saints, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit, when you accepted God's gift of salvation you will never thirst again. Therefor we know we were saved, by the blood of the Lamb. What is it we were saved from? I think we were saved from an eternity of slavery in anguish and thirst. “22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24 And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’”Luke 16:22-24 ESV. Read the full text of Luke 16 and you will understand the weight and plight of the rich mans condition. We have no way we can earn or pay our way into the kingdom of God. This means that we must have faith in him who can save us. So keep praying and reading God's word and depend on the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth. “even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.” Isaiah 46:4 ESV. Keeping the first thing first!
