The Same As Yesterday!

Today’s Feast

Oct. 7, 2015 – Judges 9

The Same As Yesterday!

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

3 O Lord, how many are my foes!
Many are rising against me;", Psalm 3:1, English Standard Version (ESV).

Dear Saints,

Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in Judges Chapter 9; Abimelech murders his brethren, and is made king. (1-6) Jotham rebukes the Shechemites. (7-21) The Shechemites conspire against Abimelech. (22-29) Abimelech destroys Shechem. (30-49) Abimelech slain. (50-57) - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we prayerfully read in Judges 8. What is going on with God's people; They choose a king without consulting God! 4 And they gave him seventy pieces of silver out of the house of Baal-berith with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless fellows, who followed him. 5 And he went to his father's house at Ophrah and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, seventy men, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself. 6 And all the leaders of Shechem came together, and all Beth-millo, and they went and made Abimelech king, by the oak of the pillar at Shechem.Judges 9:4-6 ESV. Now think about this of God was their Lord. Why would they need a man to be their king!19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.Matthew 15:19, ESV. Like Paul we should learn to give God glory and praise no matter what our circumstances are. “ 11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.Philippians 4:11-12, ESV. Same as yesterday! “29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Romans 11:29, ESV. So let’s continue to keep the first thing first. It is salvation through the blood of Jesus.
