8th Year 12-13 Edition 3 – I Kings 3 l The Feast l    How do you walk? – 1Kings 3          Dec 28_2012 1 Kings 3 Return to Admenu Home Dear  Saints, Thank you for sharing the Feast.  Today we prayerfully read in, 1 Kings 3.  Solomon’s marries the Pharaoh’s daughter.  In his vision, Solomon remembers king David walked with God in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart. His prayer for wisdom pleased God. The judgment of Solomon, concerning the fate of a child;”23 Then the king said, “The one says, ‘This is my son that is alive, and your son is dead’; and the other says, ‘No; but your son is dead, and my son is the living one.’” 24 And the king said, “Bring me a sword.” So a sword was brought before the king. 25 And the king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one and half to the other.” 26 Then the woman whose son was alive said to the king, because her heart yearned for her son, “Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means put him to death.” But the other said, “He shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him.” 27 Then the king answered and said, “Give the living child to the first woman, and by no means put him to death; she is his mother.” 28 And all Israel heard of the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king, because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.”  1 Kings 3:23:28.  English Standard Version (ESV).   God asks you what you want in life when he offers you salvation.  Do you want things of this world or the wisdom to walk with God in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart?  Just remember that God is not willing that any should perish, he wants all people to come to Him through Jesus for Salvation. “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 ESV.  Think about it are you really giving anything up to walk with Jesus?  You get rest in this life, a life that you cannot keep anyway.   In return for walking with God you get life that you cannot lose, everlasting life in God’s kingdom.  Let’s keep the first thing first. Your old birth came from mortal sperm; your new birth comes from God’s living Word. Just think: a life conceived by God himself! DEVOTIONAL: Christ answered the rich young ruler’s question of how to be saved? He said with compassion in his eye, “ye must be born again!”We are reminded in these scriptures that God had a plan for your life from the beginning. This plan can only be known by experiencing the new birth. If you trust God you have a future. Real life begins with Jesus and the gospel of John tells us, “In the beginning was the word and without Him was not anything made.” Did you catch it, “The Word”? As we approach the New Year remember new birth only comes from God’s Living Word. Do you want a life then choose Jesus.He waits at your heart’s door for you to invite Him In to your life and follow truth, love one another and love God for his love for you.
