Today’s FeastNov. 1, 2015 – John 13Love Once again?
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about
fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s
Word in approximately three years.
“18
having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what
is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his
glorious inheritance in the saints,"
Ephesians
1:18,
English Standard Version (ESV).
Dear
Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in John
Chapter13;
“Christ
washes the disciples' feet. (1-17)
The treachery of Judas foretold. (18-30)
Christ commands the disciples to love one another. (31-38)”
- Matthew
Henry Concise.
Jesus
set’s an example for us in how we treat our relationship with
one another. I know I say this a lot but it is very important that
every saint knows this commandment. “34
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just
as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this
all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love
for one another.””
John
13:34-35,
ESV. This is important in our relationship with each other as well
as our relationship with God. In
today’s Feast I’ll
repeat what I said
before; ““1
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love,
I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic
powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I
have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am
nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body
to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not
arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not
irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but
rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all
things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
1
Corinthians 1:1-7,
ESV, Some might think it redundant but I say it is important that
each of us understands what God expects. The Way of Love. By love
they shall know that Jesus has sent us. He sends us to share his
love for God’s creation. God says he loves the sinner so much
that he sent his only begotten son, Jesus to pay the price for our
sin. Again I’ll say; “God’s commandments doesn’t save us
from sin. Rather they point out our sin. The most important
commandment of all testifies of a loving relationship with him. In
it he also expects us to share that love in our relationship with
our neighbors. “36
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And
he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your
heart and with
all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and
first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your
neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the
Law and the Prophets.””
Matthew
22:36-40,
ESV. Every aspect of our life should reflect our loving
relationship with Jesus. Even our conversation which springs from
our very thoughts should glorify God. “29
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as
is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give
grace to those who hear.”
Ephesians
4:29,
ESV. Please continue to keep the first thing first! That is
salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. Let’s continue
to walk in and share His love.
Don’t
get caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our
salvation depends completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus
sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and
accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “36
“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the
angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.”
Matthew
24:36,
ESV. We are building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not
wait while you try to change anything. Click this link for more
