Do as He directs!–1 Sam 15

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 –I Sam 15
l The Feast l

Oct 16_2012 I Sam 15
National Days of Prayer Day 19 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 15. The Lord, God sent Saul to completely destroy Amalek. Saul excuses and commends himself, he did it his way. Saul’s hypocrisy in his imperfect humiliation. Samuel puts Agag put to death, Samuel and Saul part. When Saul served the Lord he thought he had all the answers. He didn’t listen to and follow God’s instructions. “22 So Samuel said:

Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
He also has rejected you from being king.”” I Samuel 15:22-23, New King James Version (NKJV). This wasn’t Burger King Saul was serving, he can’t have it his way! We must, wait on God, and obey His voice. Don’t seek God’s will and then ignore it. Seed God’s will, then do his Word. “17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18 because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. 19 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” Romans 14:17-19 (New International Version)

40 Days of Prayer day19 Prayer for our nation authored by, Prayer for America – Connection! (Devotions for Every Day Life) ;

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” –Jeremiah 29:13
Can you even imagine living in a nation where we talk about seeking the Lord together as a people? It certainly has happened before in the United States. From presidents to preachers, we have employed this sort of language through the years to describe the spiritual longing we should have for our Creator. But somewhere along the line we quit seeking. Even those who should have known better did not pursue God with their whole heart.
Today, not just the nation, but even the church has ceased to seek the Lord. I know that sounds like a harsh statement, but if we were seeking, we would be finding. That’s the promise of God. It is time for repentance on the part of the people of God. We have failed to go after the Lord with our whole hearts. We have held on to doctrines and tradition but failed to pursue the Lord Himself. Like the church at Ephesus referred to in Revelation, we work hard and believe right things but have lost our first love.
God is not hiding. He desires to be found. But His people are so caught up in so many others things that we have forgotten our first love. We must repent and turn. It is time for another Great Awakening in our nation that begins with those who commit to seek the Lord with all their hearts.
Prayer Points
• If you are not seeking the Lord with your whole heart, this is the time to cry out in repentance.
• Pray for a spirit of repentance to fall upon the church in America that would cause us to turn back to God and seek Him.
• Pray for bold leaders who begin to speak in all spheres of life of the need to seek the Lord.
My Prayer
Lord, forgive me for getting caught up in so many activities and things that I have failed to put You first. Give me a seeking heart. Help me not to be content with anything less than You Yourself. What I ask for myself, I ask for the whole church. May our church services be filled with the weeping of those who realize how we have failed to seek You passionately. Help us to be a people desperate for Your presence and not content with anything else. Please raise up those in every aspect of life who will call for and model the seeking life.” Amen!

We shall continue to wait on our Lord. We can keep the first thing first salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14 English Standard Version. Thank you Jesus for being the author of our salvation. Let our word’s be in sync with your Word Jesus. Amen!
