Oct 6_2012 I Sam 5
National Days of Prayer Day 8 of 40

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully Feast in the book of I Samuel 5. As we continue our feast in 1 Samuel we see, there is no other god like our God. The Philistine peoples god Dagon is broken before the ark. The Philistine smitten, instead of trying to get rid of our God they should have asked him for his forgiveness. “10 Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. So it was, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, “They have brought the ark of the God of Israel to us, to kill us and our people!” 11 So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, “Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go back to its own place, so that it does not kill us and our people.” For there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there. 12 And the men who did not die were stricken with the tumors, and the cry of the city went up to heaven.” I Samuel 5:10-12, New King James Version (NKJV). There is no other God under heaven! Seek him in prayer and read his Word he wants to have a personal relationship with you.

SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 8:1-9:
1 ¶ GOD told Jeremiah, 2 “Up on your feet! Go to the potter’s house. When you get there, I’ll tell you what I have to say." 3 So I went to the potter’s house, and sure enough, the potter was there, working away at his wheel. 4 Whenever the pot the potter was working on turned out badly, as sometimes happens when you are working with clay, the potter would simply start over and use the same clay to make another pot. 5 Then GOD’s Message came to me: 6 “Can’t I do just as this potter does, people of Israel?" GOD’s Decree! "Watch this potter. In the same way that this potter works his clay, I work on you, people of Israel. 7 1 ¶ GOD told Jeremiah, 2 “Up on your feet! 7 At any moment I may decide to pull up a people or a country by the roots and get rid of them. 8 But if they repent of their wicked lives, I will think twice and start over with them. 9 At another time I might decide to plant a people or country, 10 but if they don’t cooperate and won’t listen to me, I will think again and give up on the plans I had for them. 8 But if they repent of their wicked lives, I will think twice and start over with them. 9 At another time I might decide to plant a people or country, 10 but if they don’t cooperate and won’t listen to me, I will think again and give up on the plans I had for them.

God gave Jeremiah a pottery lesson. When he arrived he watched the potter working on piece of clay and turning it on the wheel. The potter would become dissatisfied with how the dish turned out and start again using the same clay. God then asked Jeremiah if He could do the same thing to the nation.

God’s answer was a call to reality. He said, “At any moment I may decide to pull up a people or a country by the roots and get rid of them”. This means America is on rocky ground unless something changes. Do we have a solution? Praise God yes. The answer is “REPENT OF THEIR WICKED LIVES.” God says if our nation will do this, He will start over with us and not give up on the plans, He has for us. The purpose of these designated days of prayer is that we might avert the judgment of the nation and experience God's blessings. We can change our nation’s future!!!

PRAYER THOUGHT: Dear Jesus we ask for nationwide repentance and return to right standing with God. Give us God driven leaders. Help us change our nation’s future. In Jesus name, Amen.

Thank you for seeking God's will and praying for our Christian nation. Jesus paid the whole price for us so keep the first thing first! That is salvation through the blood of the lamb, Jesus. “Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength.” Isaiah 26:4 NKJV.
