Justice? Deuteronomy 16

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 - Deu 16 l The Feast l June_11_2012 Deu 16 Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast in Deuteronomy 17 God has a plan for his people. If you have accepted Jesus and turned from your sin, listen carefully to God’s plan. God said;”thou salt not kill”. so is it legal for the state to pronounce the death sentence? Yes, because God has set up all powers above you. “18 “You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns that the Lord your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. 19 You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous. 20 Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the Lord your God is giving you” Deuteronomy 16:18-20, English Standard Version (ESV). Once again you may say to me “Brother Mike that is old testament scripture. I would remind you of the scripture in the new testament; “12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 ESV. Let’s continue to keep the first thing first. That being salvation through the blood of the only begotten son of God, Jesus! “He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”” Psalm 46:10 NIV. We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to get every Saint; “…But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” Matthew 24:36.
