Whom Do We Consult?

Please join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.

And David said to God, “I have sinned greatly in that I have done this thing. But now, please take away the iniquity of your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.” 1 Chronicles 21:8, English Standard Version (ESV)

Dear Saints,

Today we prayerfully read our Feast in 1 Chronicles, Chapter 10; “The death of Saul.

- The design chiefly in view in these books of the Chronicles, appears to be to preserve the records of the house of David. Therefore the writer repeats not the history of Saul's reign, but only of his death, by which a way was made for David to the throne. And from the ruin of Saul, we may learn, 1. That the sin of sinners will certainly find them out, sooner or later; Saul died for his transgression. 2. That no man's greatness can exempt him from the judgments of God. 3. Disobedience is a killing thing. Saul died for not keeping the word of the Lord. May be delivered from unbelief, impatience, and despair. By waiting on the Lord we shall obtain a kingdom that cannot be moved. - Matthew Henry Concise.

Today we prayerfully Feast in 1 Chronicles 10.   King Saul was blessed by our God.  We see here that he departed from God.  He was seeking conformation from other sources.   “13 So Saul died for his breach of faith. He broke faith with the Lord in that he did not keep the command of the Lord, and also consulted a medium, seeking guidance. 14 He did not seek guidance from the Lord. Therefore the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.1 Chronicles 10:13-14, ESV.  The Saints that love God with all their heart wouldn’t even consult a comic book astrologist.  If we need anything including information about where our life is going we seek God in prayer.  “9 Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.”  Proverbs 17:9, ESV.  If we turn to God to keep us, we don’t need gossip. Let’s keep the first thing first.  That is salvation through the blood of the Lamb.  Trust God for direction, and follow His precepts for correction. In God we trust and seek direction.  If the Lord is willing I will post and send the Feast again tomorrow.

  God Bless You,
Brother Mike
