Will we convince or condemn?
April 5, 2013 - 2 Chronicles 13
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully, continue to Feast in 2 Chronicles 13. The Feast for today really
examines the life of two kings. Abijah
whose house served the true Lord God and Jeroboam who chased after idols
which were false Gods. “20 Jeroboam did not recover his power in the days of Abijah. And the
Lord struck him down, and he died. 21 But Abijah grew mighty. And he took
fourteen wives and had twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters. 22 The rest of
the acts of Abijah, his ways and his sayings, are written in the story of the
prophet Iddo.” 2 Chronicles 13:15-16
English Standard Version (ESV). God put down Jeroboam the wicked man and
lifted up Abijah whose household served God. I don’t think there were any questions about
the outcome, our God never changes. “For the love of Christ controls
us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all
have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for
themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.” 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
ESV. As long as we continue to
live to serve Jesus according to his purpose God will continue to bless
us. There is never a reason to get
caught up in endless disputes with unbelievers. With kind words continue to share God’s love
with them. Our Lord Jesus will convince or condemn them.
