Fear God, Wait For The Lord

(17-22)”  -  Matthew Henry Concise Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Today we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Isaiah Chapter 8.    The prophet is pleading with the Messiah, who should appear, as God, and preserve the land.  He challenges the enemies of (see Nahum 1:8) God’s people.  They will perish because they consulted (see 1 Samuel 28:11-14) diviners and Baal.  “11 For the Lord spoke thus to me with his strong hand upon me, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying: 12 “Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread. “   Isaiah 6:13  English Standard Versions (ESV).  God’s people will overcome death with faith in Jesus (see Mark 8:31) the Messiah.  “[ God Will Swallow Up Death Forever O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure.”   Isaiah 25:1 ESV.   The fear of God (see Proverbs 9:10) is just the beginning wisdom.   Because of our faith in Jesus (see Galatians 2:16) we will be justified.
