A Fox Hole Prayer?

Today’s Feast March 20, 2015 – Exodus 8 A Fox Hole Prayer? “11 As a dog returns to his own vomit, So a fool repeats his folly.“ Proverbs 26:11, New King James Version (NKJV). Return to Admenu – Admenu’s Alternate Site Dear Saints, Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Exodus Chapter 8; “The plague of frogs. (1-15) The plague of lice. (16-19) The plague of flies. (20-32).“ - Matthew Henry Concise. Today we see that The Egyptian rulers are facing plagues, frogs, flies and what not. They call on God through Moses. God stops the plague and they turn right around go back to their sinful way; “31 And the Lord did according to the word of Moses; He removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. Not one remained. 32 But Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also; neither would he let the people go.” Exodus 8:31-32 NKJV. There are many persons who turn to God in a dangerous moment, until the threat is gone they mean what they are confessing.” But as soon as the threat is over they completely forget about calling out with a promise to the Lord; “22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dog returns to his own vomit," and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire."” 2 Peter 2:22 NKJV. It is so common that when I was in Vietnam we referred to it as a “Fox Hole Prayer” and when the danger passed we forgot about God and returned to our sin.
